Well I am looking for the best way to install a phono plug into pin 79. I have searched and searched, but have found nothing on the actual install, just tons of information on ceddymods and flashing. I received a flashable ECU awhile ago and did reflash with ceddy mods a number of times with success, however I ended up bricking a few days ago. When I received the ECU, it already had the phono plug connected, so I didn't do the install. However I don't think its the proper way of doing it.
With reference to this thread, http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/first-flashed-dsm-ecu-98-99-flashing-faq.338754/, I see there is this connector that Ceddy recommends, http://www.newark.com/te-connectivity-amp/175265-1/contact-receptacle-22-18awg-crimp/dp/85C1211. I just don't understand how to do the install.
Here are a few pictures of how the ECU I bricked had its phono plug connected.
It did work, however I think there is a better way of doing it using the connector Ceddy recommends "http://www.newark.com/te-connectivity-amp/175265-1/contact-receptacle-22-18awg-crimp/dp/85C1211". I would assume you crimp the back side of the phono wire into that connector, and then push that connector into the actual ECU wire harness slot that sits at pin 79, which then would make the connection into pin 79 when the ECU wire harness was plugged in.
I learn best by pictures, if anyone has any pictures of how they pinned their phono plug into pin 79, that would help me out a lot!!
I would assume the connector (http://www.newark.com/te-connectivity-amp/175265-1/contact-receptacle-22-18awg-crimp/dp/85C1211) in my post is the same if you were to add a terminal into any ECU pin, not just pin 79?
Anyone use one of these ECU connectors before?
