Hello everyone. This is my first post because Ive been a longtime lurker but I would like some help from the masters.

I recently replaced my injectors, and fuel pump and installed a AFPR. (750cc FIC, 255lph Walbro and Fuel Labs AFPR) When I cranked the car up (it had been sitting for a month maybe) it idled terrible and would die after a few seconds.

So I looked at the forums for guidance and boom, i forgot to change my fuel settings to account for the new modifications. So I changed my global fuel to -40% and global deadtime to 330 just like it says to do on the ECMlink forums and on here.
Car ran terribly with that settings. The same or worse. So I changed the global fuel up and up more until about -20% and it runs perfect now.

My questions is why doesn't -40% work for me like it supposed to? Am I missing something here? Are my injectors not flowing enough? It smells like its running very very rich. My AFR as idle is about 16:1

Other details that might pertain to this: 16g car, turbo from MHI EVO III, Greddy profec, Bigger sized side mount intercooler, ECMlink, side exit from BSFAB, o2 dump housing from STM

FIC 750cc injectors are rated at 750cc with your AFPR adjusted to 43.5psi running E0 (0% ethanol) but most pump gas 91octane is E10 which, doing the math, should put your globals at -38% theoretically... That 40% number assumed E0 gasoline.

It can smell rich and idle lean if there's a vacuum leak and the ECU's trying to richen up the mixture or you're doing it through the fuel settings, which a -20% global would too.

@lham24, make sure your fuel pressure is set to 43.5psi and do a boost leak test and I would bet you've got a pretty decent vacuum leak at the injector seals going into the back of the head... If that's the case, remove them and smear a thin amount of black RTV around them before reinstalling them and the injectors.

Pm.me i can help you a little
He can PM you directly for help but that does little to provide others looking for the same assistance in the future that are looking to resolve the same issue they may have.
