I found my cam sensor missing a nut. No problem ill just grab one and put it on!

Well there seems to be some shoulder sticking out past the sensor.
I'm not sure what the actual issue is here. Stud out too far? Wrong hardware? Wrong sensor? Missing something weird? Anyone have any idea?

Tried to find a picture online but everything I could find either is of the other side or does now show this stud clearly enough for me to see what it should actually look like.

Solution
You are missing the throttle body stay (#11 in the pic below). The throttle body stay is about 10mm thickness and it goes to the CAS stud before the M8 nut. If you don't have the stay, you can put something as a spacer such as a larger diameter nut or washers and then you put the M8 nut to tighten. Don't forget to put back the ground plate which is also numbered #11 w/ #10 screw if you use a 1g idle position switch on a turbo dsm throttle body.

Perfect! Thank you! Thats exactly what I needed to know.
I do not have the bracket so ill put some sort of spacer in there.

As for that #10 screw, I seem to be missing it. (Sorry for the small picture its a snip of an existing engine bay shot I have)
Mine is indeed a 1G turbo so I assume it needs to be there?

Is this screw special in any way?

Check your local hardware store in the nuts/bolts section, I found a spacer at my local ACE that worked perfect.

On a 91-94 1G the throttle body ground strap (when you have the TB Stay) looks like this.

Since you don't have the TB Stay (which helps support the Intake manifold) you can just run the ground to the firewall or to where the intake manifold ground strap bolts town to the throttle cable bracket.

Do you have an IPS?

It looks like there is one hiding back there..

I thought I saw a screw (not the IPS) down low, mating up with the throttle linkage at the TB. It looked out of place to me Steve.

Is the stay recommended to have? I can get one if I should.
It do believe I have an Idle Position Switch.

Is this something you saw on my car? If anything is out of place please let me know. Im trying to get this car road worthy and I am new to them so I dont know what is right or not, aside from the obvious of course.

Well I thought it was a picture of the front of a throttle body, but looking back I don't see it on your thread so I bet I saw it on someone elses thread. Sorry to alarm you. I think you have the ips, it has one wire going to it on the firewall side of the TB. I circled it in red.

No worries! Thank you for looking out.
I did post a very small picture of the front of my throttle body so you very well could have seen it here.
Funny thing about that wire, it was originally broken off and I had to hoopty it back together. Man I cant wait until the cars in a condition where I can go back and clean up all that type of stuff. Have other priorities at the moment though.

I went to add a ground wire to replace the missing plate and found this other ground wire... I assume this is a suitable replacement? It goes from the intake manifold to the firewall.

Finally found time to fix these two issues. Just put some washers on the cam sensor stud to make up for the missing stay and ran a ground from the throttle body stud to an existing ground on the back of the intake manifold. Left it a little long in case I wanted to do something with it later on down the road.

Thanks to all that helped!
