If you got it out, it should go back in. Compare the new and old wp to make sure they’re the same. If you’re still having trouble, try raising the engine a little, floor jack + piece of wood on oil pan.

Well I kinda had to force the old one out, but I don't wanna force the new one in, the new one is an aftermarket.

I was thinking about removing the engine mount bracket to make more room.

you probably got 6 bolt water pump, it's bigger than 7 bolt, that's why it won't fit
What about those of us with a 6 bolt swapped 2g? he really just needed to remove the motor mount and raise the engine to make more room, of course then he would have still found out that he had the wrong pump, but the reason for it not going up against the block is due to the engine needing raised more than the wrong pump.

I'm not sure why you're pointing that out, I don't disagree but I was just saying that because that's a common problem what happens fairly often, and that to be said your comment is a bit irrelevant and off topic when OP don't have 6bolt swapped 2g

My point WAS that the problem isn't the fact that he is installing a 6 bolt pump on a 7 bolt engine, its that he didnt have the engine raised up enough to install any pump, this was done for future members that might have the same problem and use this thread for reference.
