Darren Thomas Racing, I think RIX Racing will do builds too. Not sure if Dan Buschur (Dave’s brother) still does trans builds or not but if he does he does great work for fair price too.

DTR is like $5k.

But just doing a shift kit and replacing the clutch packs honestly isn’t that bad to do yourself. Toughest part is a clean dust free location to do it in and if the trans has any kind of material in it, it’ll all need a complete disassembly to clean it. If it’s clean though, clutch packs take like an hour or two at most if you’re a 100% newb and never done any trans work before.

Shift kit takes 15 minutes. Just watch Transdude/Jon from IPTs install video and follow his tips.

A shift kit and end clutch kit is not hard but can be time consuming. It can also be troublesome as so many take out a perfectly working car and then have issues later upon reinstalling it so read the instructions on the shift kit a few times!

I did my shift kit and with stripping and drilling then checking all was ok and then installing the springs and setting it was a good few hours from start to finish. The job was not hard but so many bits you have to check and make sure you follow it correctly the selector on the piston is one people forget and have no movement, thankfully being careful enough i managed to get all gears and it worked well and now runs full pressure.

End clutches are pretty easy minus the clamp jig i had to make to press the retainer down to put the snap ring in but again cleaning it and making sire its not damaged overall took me under 2 hours i think.

Not done the front clutches yet and thats next to do but i believe i need some tools to set some bits up but will likely take a few hours more to do as its alot more to remove to clean and inspect and install again.

Dont forget a diff! It will help you alot so if you dont run one already look into one
