Hey all,

THE RISERS ARE NOW LIVE! Please visit shophef.com to purchase. You can contact me directly but my website has better shipping rates. I also created an installation video, which shows you the effectiveness of these risers.

Initial post:
My first ever product that brought me into the DSM freelance community, were my 3D printed bumper risers (v1). This was a solution to stop 2g front bumpers from sagging when the front crash bar is removed. The support from the community was overwhelming and I appreciate every member on this forum. This product ended up kickstarting my small business of making parts just for you guys. I wanted to add the bumper risers permanently to my website, but I was not happy with the original design. I took all the lessons learned over the years and I bring you, version 2 of my 3D printed bumper risers!

I want to gauge interest for this product. It'll take a lot of hours creating these bumper riser sets, and I want to see what the community thinks before I finalize and release. These are all prototype pieces so excuse any quality issues you see.
Here's a couple important changes:
The riser is printed so that there is ZERO chance of shearing at layer lines.
The platform that the riser sits on is significantly longer, covering more of the underside of the headlight and matching the curve.
More structural integrity by using nut & bolts for the stresses. 1 assists in supporting the riser, and another gives more integrity to the platform holding the bumper.
The single mounting hole mounting the riser to the frame, is now a threaded insert. No risk of shearing threads!
Other aspects to note:
The entire assembly is 3D printed ABS. Comes in 3 pieces with very simple assembly (1 bolt).
Riser is slightly adjustable. The mounting hole in the frame rail can slide forwards and backwards. As well the riser supporting bolt can be tightened for a little extra height if needed.
For a set of risers for both sides (driver and passenger) my price of $70 USD for the pair, with all the necessary hardware included.

Thank you for reading! Let me know what you guys think.

edit: did some math and minor pricing adjustment
edit2: the risers are now available + installation video at the start of the post

yeah I need these ASAP. Is there any concern of the brackets rubbing through the bumper over time? Just wondering what your thoughts are. I made some similar for myself, but used 1/4" rubber hose around a threaded rod bent in the shape of the bumper.

I doubt it. I don't believe much rubbing goes on, considering that the riser pushes the bumper tight against the headlight. Also, the bumper will definitely out-rub the bracket LOL.

I can’t tell but where do they get mounted?
I'll make an installation video so that there is no confusion. It's really simple, when the crash bar is removed the end of the frame rail is open. They just slide in, and get bolted from the underside of the frame rail. You can also check out my v1 forum it shows how they are mounted.

And please...please...PLEASE do some good quality 3D printed recreations of the 2G interior mirror covers. I am honestly willing to put a down payment just to get the ball rolling. We need viable alternatives to the stock ones that break if you look at them incorrectly.

I have a carbon set I bought from a guy on Instagram.
I think I posted them in my build thread but I'm not sure

Hey I'll look into this. I actually did make them at a time. Still have the designs (prototype stage) but wasn't clear on the demand.

I started a Facebook post and got a decent amount of interest. I think interest is there tbh. Especially if it’s up to the standards that these supports are.

Thank you for all the interest guys. I've finished up the bumper risers and they are now live on my site shophef.com. I added an installation video at the beginning of the thread so that you can get an idea about the effectiveness of the risers. Really proud of this redesign, I think they are a vast improvement on my first version of the bumper risers. Again, thank you to everyone for the support.

Nice work on these dude! Looks awesome

I look at them and i think window squeegee as the shape reminds me of that LOL.

I’m kinda serious about 3D printing some 2G interior mirror covers/caps. I scored a mint set that I could feasibly send you if you needed to measure/scan/whatever.
Can do. I should be pretty close, I used to make gauge mounts for that location. Rest assured that I'm working on them now.
