Purchased a set of new front axles from my local CarQuest for my 1992 GSX 5 spd. Upon arrival today I opened the box to find a 1pc driver's side axle. Not a outer cv axle to couple to my factory half shaft. I have NEVER seen this before. My first thought was there has to be a reason Mitsubishi designed the OEM assembly to use a half shaft with support bearing and bracket. I did a Google search as well as searched on here as well. Nothing came up. I did come across a picture on STM's website showing upgraded front axles that use a 1 piece design. So I'm not sure what to think. My brain goes down a rabbit hole thinking of the difference in stress and torque on an unsupported axle that's 38" in overall length. Am I over thinking this situation? I just didn't realize this was a "thing". Did I receive the wrong axles? Drivers side P/N is NCV51049. Pass axle P/N is NCV51052. I appreciate any input on the matter.

Wrong axle. Only the FWD used the one piece axle. Note that the screenshot you provided of STMs website is for FWD.

That appears to be the correct axle for an AWD.

MB505495 is a carrier bearing for the main drive shaft. Driveshaft Parts - MB505495.

The bearing kit you'd be after for the half shaft is dependent on whether you're auto or manual. As you are a 5spd, the part number you'd need is MB526981. In either case, you might want to read up here: Another part axed. :-( (limited stock available).
Just an update. The intermediate shaft bearings (half shaft) can be found on eBay for $5. Search part number 6206-2rs. The bearings are 30mm x 62mm x 16mm.

The Seals for the intermediate shaft can be had for the same price on ebay, advanced auto or rock auto. The Seals are 42mm x 56mm x 7mm. Because these are generic Seals they are .3mm smaller than the bore. A little RTV can be used to hold them in place. You can search "42x56x7" on the above sites to find the Seals. I'll include an ebay link below for example.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=42x56x7+seal&_trksid=p2380057.m4084.l1313

I was also still able to find a few websites that carry the original Mitsubishi intermediate shaft components. Bearing alone. Bearing kit including Seals and clip. Bearing kit including bearing, seals, clip, and bearing bracket. I did a simple Google search and found 5 or so sites with the parts ready to ship. These were found by doing a quick Google search of the Mitsubishi part numbers MB526956; MB526981; MR276643 There's a ton available from the United Arab Emirates. But they're just as easy to find on ebay with shipping arrival dates of next week. It's important to note the brackets come in 2 different versions depending on year.

Intermediate shaft Mitsubishi part numbers are as follows:

Bearing bracket kit (bracket, bearing, seals, axle clip) 1990'-1996' P/N MB526981

Bearing bracket kit (bracket, bearing, seals, axle clip) 1997'-1999' P/N MR276643

OEM Bearing/Seal/clip P/N MB526956

When using the OEM Mitsubishi Seals and not a generic 42mm x 56mm x 7mm seal, no rtv is required as the OEM seal included is 56.3mm. The same as the seal bore. It will require a slight press fit like any other round seal. Rubber mallet, large socket, whatever. Just use common sense.

I also found the part numbers and associated part numbers with the 1g AWD Manual Trans DRIVER SIDE axle by various vendors. One thing that made life much easier was going to RockAuto.com and searching for a drivers side axle for a GVR4 galant since they were only available in manual Trans. I've done this a few times recently at Advanced Auto and AutoZone looking for various other parts as well. You will find a lot more results over looking up Eclipse/Talon parts. The drivers axles are $43.79 - $53.79/piece depending on manufacturer and are ALL 100% brand new. There's ONE result for a remanufactured axle and it's $70.79 + $20.70 core = $91.49 + shipping. Makes no sense.
