Hey man I just bought my first ever car this year which is my 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. I'm new to DSM's and my car is not starting.
I have changed the crank and cam sensors and checked my fuses.

The check engine light come on then comes off. When I check the crank sensor wiring with a test light the yellow wire flashes and when I check the white and blue wire it flashes but the wire in the middle does nothing.

Also when I turn the switch on I can hear the fuel pump prime and I have checked the relays (ASD-MFI) and they are good. Anyone got ideas?

Thank you

Alright thx I take a look at this and see what I come up with

Alright so I've taken A look at it and tommow or this weekend ill take a look at the fuel filter but I was Also wondering what would the crankshaft wiring look like if it was correct because i also want to make sure that that wiring is good

the car was running fine just hot so i got the cylinder head rebuilded and got the engine back together New spark plugs wires and msd coil pack all the fusses are good my furl pump is primimg and relays are clicking and show resistance and im im almost psoitive its not my pcm sorry for not replying have been busy

If I understand correctly your car started and ran fine before you had the head redone. Now you've put the head back on the car and it won't start, correct? It didn't start or run after you put the head back on?

If this is the case I would advise you to do several things. Check all of your electeical connectors in the engine bay to ensure all are plugged in tight. I know stuff on me was loose when I was 23 years old...

Check your vacuum lines as well. Finally, you should check your timing marks and probably do a compression check. The GS has an interference engine, meaning the valves descend into the combustion chamber beyond the piston height - so if cam/crank timing is off by a tooth or more you can (will) have piston(s) hitting and bending valves. Bad day.

yes it did indeed run but the guy before me had wired the car in some way to bypass somthing we fix the wiring back to start now it wont start I have also notice that they deleted the mass air flow sensor do you think that could cause it not to start btw the engine cranks so I have compression just doesn't start THx man

Make sure you don’t have the plug for the coil pack and the plug for the cam sensor reversed. Pull a plug wire and ground it to see if you have spark. They are the same plug and they are close to each other in the engine bay. If they are reversed you will probably need a new cam sensor the coil pack should be fine however. Also verify the mechanical timing is correct on the car. From what you have said the problem was produced from something you did; if the car ran fine before you touched it. Double check everything you did as it sounds like it was self induced. Good luck

we have retimed it multiple times and I have installed new cam and crank sensor but I have no MAF Sensor
Could Thta cause it to not start

I wasn’t aware that a 420a had a maf sensor. No 420a I’ve worked on or owned has ever had one anyway. A map sensor yes but not a maf. Idk why anyone would delete a map on a 420 anyway. Verify that you have spark.

Also i would like to Add that the previous owner installed and aftermarket keyless entry and security
