So I'm currently looking for a replacement downpipe, o2 housing, and exhaust manifold to put in my 2g GST

I can't find any Megan racing stuff anywhere and it seems as though Megan doesn't make those kinds of parts for our cars anymore, and the only places I can seem to find that still makes at least the downpipe is cxracing, as well as a few other ebay brands, which I took a gamble on a month ago with some intercooler piping, and while they work perfectly, I'm still skeptical about getting anything else from them due to other people's dealings with them. So I figured I'd post in here, and see if anyone else has bought any of those from them, and whether they'd recommend one of them for those specific parts, or recommend someplace else. Going to a custom shop is out of the question though because there are none near where I live that I can go to sadly.

Did you come up with a solution here?
Im in the same boat here... was pretty happy when i saw a local part out for a GST with a full TBE exhaust but the dude started ignoring me and ended up selling it to someone else. Ive been out the game for a while and thought parts were still in abundance but boy was I wrong. And the price of these parts have gone UP IN PRICE LOL
I mean, I remember when parts were CHEAP back in 2008 LOL

I did, found a catless downpipe from emusa, didn't go with cx cause my gut feeling was the welds were cheap, welds on the emusa pipe and everything look like they're pretty solid so I'm happy with that, I'm taking it to an exhaust shop this week to have an O2 sensor bung welded onto the pipe and then I'm gonna install it

I've noticed that prices have had quite the increase, and also that a lot of brands don't make stuff for the car anymore, which is pretty disheartening tbh

Nice! Yea ive seen alot of discontinued parts now.
Looks like you have the same color as my GST :)

Parts are brutal to come by, especially for the GST. I also have a feeling these parts are never coming back so get them while you can. The CX racing stuff is hit or miss. I also have the FMIC piping kit and it's actually pretty good. The exhuast stuff so far is trash. Mainly the flange material and the over build quality.

I had a cx racing tubular manifold on my car when I bought it and it changed the while position of the turbo making nearly impossible to get the coolant and oil lines to line up.

I'd go with a FP manifold and is your O2 housing bad? Cracked? You take some time and port it. I have a Cx racing O2 housing and the flange warps and I have to sand the flange flat and reinstall more often than I'd like too. Also the bung on mine faces the engine causing the O2 sensor to hit the coolant line in front. If you can find a downpipe let me know. I'll buy one if it isn't a cheapy.

My o2 housing is still good... looks old and beat to be honest. Havent really looked into CX Racing because IVE NEVER HEARD OF THEM LOL
Sounds like an EBAY SELLER if you ask me LOL
O2 housing... i found one so far that looks good is STMs o2 housing w/ dump tube for $275 off AWDMOTORSPORTS
Ive found a couple "exhausts" but have NOOOO idea if its just a catback or its the FULL TBE minus the test pipe.
IDK if any of yall know? Its a Megan Racing Exhaust.... which i used to have on my EVO back in the day. MR-CBS-ME95T is the model number.. its specific for the GST
I mean it looks like a down pipe is include in it but the description says catback... so LOL Im LOST

An ebay 02 housing is just fine.

Punishment racing has two options for downpipe. 1 option is cat delete and the other is for a cat.

Beware of the Megan racing, umm I doubt its just me. But my Megan catback did not fit my Megan downpipe. The flange from dp to catback was off by a bunch of degrees. I had to get two flanges and sum 3 inch pipe for a test pipe. Had to mock it up and then weld it because like I said it was off by a bunch of degrees.

Hope this helps. Srs used to be easy to fund exhaust, I think there's taco taco these days. Its been a while since I've even looked. But you dont need to stray away from eBay exhausts. Well not the manifold do not buy the eBay manifold they used to crack super easy. A ported 2g manifold is just fine. FP has a great cast manifold if your looking for aftermarket .

Ohh awd exhaust fits fwd. But fwd does not fit awd

Ohh okay LOL
Because i was looking at some systems that STM sells and in BOLD LETTERS STM says that AWD systems do not fit on FWD and FWD does not fit on AWD...IDK if thats exclusive to them or what? LOL Yea I dont mind ebay exhausts its just I know their fitments can be off at times.
If STMs exhaust fits the GST then id probably order their whole TBE w/ test pipe kit w/ o2 housing and dump tube for 1375 LOL

Your right it does say does not fit fwd.

Since your ordering new and not second hand always go with what the manufacturer says and get the fwd option.

I think its because most people don't build GST's. I've considered converting mine for this very reason.

Agreed LOL But in that case... they dont have a FWD option listed.. only an AWD option LOL
FML I found a megan racing

This is very true! Except its a PAIN to find all the parts needed for a conversion. Ive been looking for them day to day... it seems easier to just buy a parts car but theyre a dime a dozen now

To a degree. I reached out to a guy here in the Denver area wanted 4k for a none running GSX or TSi. People are starting to understand what they have. I found a guy with everything out of the car, wanted 5k. Its crazy. You need to find some kid that blew one up, who just wants to recover some money.

Hmmm, Off the shelf parts for a 25 year old platform from a mixed Japanese and US partnership that no longer exists.

My friends, DSM is all custom work now, and its why a lot of us learned to do it ourselves. No company is going to invest in development for a shrinking market.

I just thought there would be a huge surplus 😂
Yea I saw some of the custom work being done LOL
I’m going to be fabbing some stuff up with my 3d Printer for fun 😋

Keep in mind, CX Racing, “Emusa”, Megan, and even Punishment now are all the same Chinese parts out of the same factory in China, just a different vendor. What’s been overlooked here is what turbo are you using? If you’re still on the t25, anything but the stock exhaust manifold is going to hurt more than help performance wise. With ANY turbo the cheap tubular stock flange manifolds are going to be a downgrade, not just in reliability but in performance as well as the angles are too tight to benefit anything. It’s been proven time and time again Matt and Samantha Morrison have been the only ones to produce a stock flange tubular manifold for us that is an actual improvement, all others belong nowhere near our engines. If you’re talking a 14b, 16g, or td05 20g or something similarly classed a properly ported 2g manifold or Evo III manifold is the best selection performance and reliability wise. Once ported the runner and opening size on the 2g manifold and Evo III manifold are identical, but the Evo III manifold is cast with nickel so even less prone to cracking than it’s 2g counterpart. Unfortunately now that the newest used 2g manifold is 23 years old, we’re starting to see them finally crack however they weren’t prone to it like the earlier 1g manifold. The FP race manifold is a great piece, but still not the most optimal option for anything the size of a td05 20g or smaller. Not a bad option if you want brand new and don’t want to do any port work and don’t mind spooling a hair later, I ran one matched to a 16g with great success, but many have seen over 500 at the wheels and have even said to seen over 600 with the ported stock 2g manifold with larger turbos in a bolt on housing. With that being said though with a t25 the FP manifold is NOT what you want, the stock non ported manifold would be the best selection with that turbo.

As far as the tubular o2 housings go the cheap Chinese ones on eBay and Amazon like CX racing and Megan and Punishment (what they offer now is the same China one, they no longer hand make them in house and haven’t in some time unless they magically decided to again) are absolute trash. For one the angle of the pipe off the flange is entirely too tight making no improvement in performance. Second off the material is paper thin and cracks from vibration even when the exhaust is hung properly. Third the flanges are so warped they won’t properly seal right out of the box half of the time. I went through several, the recirculating ones would last a bit longer as the wastegate tube seemed to offer a bit of bracing but they would eventually start hairline cracking around the weld where the pipe is welded to the turbine housing flange. The open dump ones the material cracks right around the pipe from being paper thin and not holding up to the heat and vibration. I can’t find the picture, might have lost it, but @JusMX141 might still have it, the last one I used cracked BAD right through the material, so much the whole thing twisted. Was able to make 420 at the wheels on a nicely ported 1g o2 housing with no issue matched to a 16g and never looked back. A few of the better fab companies offer some real nice ones but for the cost the gain is very slight over a ported stock o2 housing and not in the least bit worth it unless you’re going for everything you can get out of a bolt on turbo like an FP Zero or you need one with a provision to run an external wastegate. Keep in mind too even as nicely made as the top shelf ones are welded stainless will always be more prone to cracking vs heavy cast.

As far as the down pipe goes, again keep in mind companies like CX racing, Punishment, Megan, etc are all the same Chinese part. They work fine but might require a little work right out of the box (touching up welds, leveling flanges, etc) and unfortunately buying from one China vendor doesn’t decrease those odds over the other, but not the case every single time. Even if a little work is required they’re hard to beat for the money. Sure they’re made out of the same thin material as the o2 housings but being as they’re not seeing the same extreme heat right off the turbo that the o2 housing sees they tend to hold up well and get the job done when used properly. Either way you look at it it beats having something rigged up out of aluminized steel exhaust piping at the local muffler shop.

I'm going to be upgrading it to a 16g, it's on stock ATM

Right now I have a 16g on the way as well as all of the other things that I need to replace to fit it on right

Same here.
My car came with a stock big 16g
I ended up ordering STMs o2 housing with dump tube, CX racings down pipe with cat delete and the HKS Carbon Ti catback. I’ll post up how it fits

UPDATE... ended up buying a CXRACING downpipe with cat delete, an STM o2 housing w/ o2 dump, and HKS Carbon TI... Yea I know its not a true 3 inch, but whatever LOL
STM o2 housing mated perfectly with my BIG 16G turbo... CX Racing mated good with STMs o2 housing... had a little trouble with the HKS Carbon TI since the flange on it is a 2.5 and the CXracing is a 3inch flange... but got it work. Ill update with some pictures when I have a chance... as for now im currently replacing ALL the seals on the car since its almost 25 years old with 157000 miles.

Hey did you have to get the flange changed to a 3in? I'm in the same boat as you and can't find a true 3 in exhaust.

Idk if I said this or not. But punishment racing has two options for the DP. 1g option is for a cat or test pipe and the 2g option is a longer DP that deletes the need for a cat or test pipe
