OK, so I got a funky issue going on with my stock deck. Cut the car off and let the radio play randomly cut off, restarted car and worked again. Drive 45 minutes home works fine, pull into house cuts off again. Restart car.... nothing. Restart again cuts on for a second volume maxed out and dies a short second later. No radio since.... ideas? 98 talon n/t. Searched to no answer. Thanks guys and gals in advance!

Will check into it today. Thanks again!

I plan to look into it when the weather clears up (hopefully today) But in the meantime, thinking about when it started happening was right after I did a good solid vacuum of the interior. I just bought the car a few weeks ago, been searching for a 98 Talon for a couple of years in the local area. I guess I might have made contact with the amp somehow and caused my issue. The weird thing to me is it works fine for a while, then it cuts off. I am hoping that the solution recommended will fix this issue. If I go to install aftermarket unit in the car will I be able to bypass this amp or is it pre accommodated with the factory wiring leading into the unit itself? Thanks for all the help. Without this site I would be lost I swear haha.

I checked for amp, my car did not come with a factory amp from Infinity. Guessing it is not a premier sound system. But I have since solved my problem. I hope this explanation can come of assistance for someone else with the same issue because I could not find any.

The source of the problem was a grounding issue. I bought a aftermarket deck thinking it was the OEM unit itself. Turns out that for whatever reason I had a bad ground. I spliced the ground wire from the adapter harness and ran my own ground and have been enjoying the sounds ever since. Problem free. Apparently this advice has been offered before on a forum but was in a different type of situation. A little thinking and looking around and I have fixed the car. Thanks again to all you guys and gals on tuners who consistently offer good advice. It steered me in the right direction. Hope this can help someone in the future!

How did you know it was a bad ground? I have this situation with my car at the moment but recently it just turned off and never came on.
