I thought Gpopshop used to balance turbos for a fair price, but I'm just pulling this one out of my butthole. Could be(and probably am) totally wrong.

Commenting to subscribe so when the answer is given I can use it in the future.

Yeah - I got my rotating parts balanced, and I completed the rebuild. I think it went well. The boost response with the China E3 turbine, and the restored turbine wheel is MUCH quicker than before.

I'm looking forward to getting back into the logs when the car returns with new suspension.

It always did really well on my 14B and 16Gs as well, just 100% needed the wastegate flapper hole addressed like you did. It’s a great part tbh. The one(and seemingly only) good thing about CHY-NAH bay 16Gs.

Justin just built my 14b with that housing and we opted for that one due to reasons discussed above. I must say I never thought I’d be so excited to go from a Borg s363sxe to a 14b, but reading quality discussion on the matter like this gets me that much more eager to get my pile of junk back together. Wish I had logs I could compare of the 2 housings but wild enough, out of all the turbos I’ve ran I’ve never had a 14b.

Justin built a 14b and a 7cm2 14b out of what I thought was a 14b and an unknown. He knows his stuff and is great to work with if you are not familiar with turbos. I will remove my 16g - never run- and put the 14b on to see what the stock GVR4 felt like and then try the other two. Jus says the 7cm2 ones are a good set up and all 3 will work fine with original ecu. No tuning required most likely.

If memory serves, Paul, you should have a 14B, Small 16G, and Evo III currently in your possession that are all in near-new condition. The 14B and Small 16G would be fine on the stock fuel system, the Evo III would require a pump upgrade at the very least- and injectors along with some sort of tuning platform if you wanted to get the most out of it.
