According to my 80+ yo mother who lives in Ft. Myers, yours is the cat box state.

Idk man, I think if we’re comparing smells CO would be the Skunk state.

And central/south Florida is like a completely different state. New York City vs upstate.

Wasn't referring to smells but your right and many places are worse than that. Maybe they should place the grows next to the feed lots and fracking sites.

I know this is a late response but modifying cars is really f***ing expensive.....and we dsmers have it good. Our cars are the absolute cheapest you can find. Think of it from her perspective: You buy a $1300 turbo for example. Would you be happy if she came home with a $1300 purse? That $4000 engine you're putting together...you think you'd be happy if she bought a $1000 piece of jewelry 4 months in a row? f*** no you wouldn't be. Like I said...we DSMers have it easy. All these guys who are into Supras and GTRs....you think the fiancé or girlfriend is going to be happy when the dipshit takes out a $50K loan for a toy car? Imagine how much makeup, jewelry, furniture, movies, dinners you could buy with all that. If we have someone that will put up with 1/4 of the shit we buy then be happy. Now you're talking about a second car?...no surprise.
Or better yet, dont bother getting legally married, my take on it is that if its YOUR money that YOU earn then its YOUR money to do with what you want, if she wants to buy a $1000 purse with the money that she earns then I could care less, buy whatever makes you happy, if there's a problem with any of this then you either should not have gotten married or you married the wrong person.

I was married for 28 years. I'm happier now and focus on MY happiness being a bachelor. 👍;):)

Hey Dusty, I've gone through similar in life with wanting a car, and not having the support for it ect. When my wife and I first started getting into a serious relationship, I told her one thing that would end it, no matter what. I had seen many friends and coworkers sell off their cars due to their wife/girlfriend telling them to do it for whatever reason. Told my wife (not wife at the time) that if she ever told me I had to get rid of it, or my parts, tools, ect... that would be the end of the relationship, married or not. That was my only stipulation. She said ok, and has never done it. We've been together for 9 years, married for 7 1/2 of them, and she's never made that demand. Hell she's even gone out of her way to support my hobby in ways I never thought she would, down to even buying my a donor GSX for my 2nd spyder's AWD swap. This last DSM I bought (and sadly lost), she wasn't exactly wanting me to spend the money on the shell, but due to the low price asked by the buyer, and everything else that went into the decision, she agreed it was a good buy. Sadly loosing it has led me to selling everything off that is remotely DSM related, and she's seen how much this has all affected me (in a bad way). So if it's worth the price, and makes sense, do it. These cars are disappearing fast.

I can relate to a lot of what's going on here...including living in the best state in the nation (Colorado pioneer/native here) :p :shhh:
All kidding aside, I'm glad this worked out for the OP. If that's an original CO car you shouldn't have to deal with too much rust. My '91 is a great example of of a CO car, sunbaked paint but minimal rust.

One thing I've learnt about project cars is the more cars you get the less gets done. I'm trying to focus on one at a time now instead of constantly spreading the money around between them and getting none done.
Glad you did listen to your wife, as the saying goes "happy wife = happy life", im very happily a bachelor tho.
I got to go to Colorado for the first time a few weeks back, SLC is actually rather pretty. But not being a large crowd person there's to much traffic for me. Now heading to Miami Florida so it'll probably be worse for me LOL....just a small town canadian.

All the money and time spent in rebuilding and restoring a 2G turbo is pure joy, much more than other things... the Eclipses are so much more meaningful to own when you've done all the work yourself, put your love into it, and the time spent working on it keeps you out of other things that can be more expensive and less rewarding,.. like marriage! Lol

LOL - Don't wait until you're the oldest guy in the club before you do decide to invest in a relationship.

Haha yeah, like I had stated, my relationship with her means more to me than the vehicle. And in the end it all worked out better PLUS she is happy hahaha. It was just me being selfish at the time and not being patient.

Yeah, already 'invested' in a relationship...it lasted 4 years. Worst thing was, she told me to sell my original red GST and my motorcycle when we got married, and buy a family SUV... In retrospect, I should have kept my toys because they would have lasted much longer than our marriage LOL... now I have my priorities straightened out... cars and bikes are much cheaper than women in the long run! And more rewarding! (my children are all grown up in college now and don't have any communication with me)... so much sacrifice, so little return on my investment!

You would have just lost all of your toys in the divorce......I did :ohdamn: :f-u:
We had all the fun toys and I had to sell them all (nope, couldn't even buy out my half) in the divorce. If I hadn't already sold my 67 Camaro, I would have lost it too. Dam glad I did. Attorneys were mad at me (thought I sold it to cheap, but fk them) and I had to pay her half of what I sold it for and couldn't own it again for 5 years. At 5 years and 1 day, I bought the thing back. Happy that I made ONE good decision at least. :thumb:
