What version of ECMLink are you working with? V2 would lose a tune on the 2g with battery power loss.

If you want to do a little more research about what is involved in the tuning process check out:
Thread 'Tuning With ECMLink v3' https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/tuning-with-ecmlink-v3.448002/

or the wiki:

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get a tune based on a mod list. There are some tuners that offer remote services, but will involve some work on your end first.

Not looking for a that tune per say but enough to run the car to get it tuned. And that may not be possible either but that was my plan.

Also, its a G2 eprom ecu, person bought the car and lost the tune, no idea what version it was and the orig seller no longer had a copy of it so it requires a new one.

2G V2 DSMLink will loose it's setting if it looses backup power but getting it set up well enough to take it to a shop is just a matter of telling it the basics about the car like what injectors it has and if it's running Speed Density.

This assumes you have the cable that came with the DSMLink so you can talk to it and you know the details of of the mods to the car.

What does the cable that connects to the computer look like?

Read through the links posted. Since this is a "new to you" car, there are a few items to check before tuning happens.

That is a v3 cable. Check the links posted previously to see about getting started with a base if you wish to drive your car to someone to tune it.

That looks a lot like the cable for V3 DSMLink not V2.

The V2 ODB adapter looks like this but maybe what I'm seeing is a USB to serial cable to replace the black wire in this picture.

For V2 this adapter is the product key as well as connecting device.

If it turns out he actually has V3 DSMLink it doesn't loose it's settings with a battery disconnect.

I was going to make a profile before i go see the car with basics but i cant create it unless I am connected to an ECU it appears

Here is the cable in the car

Little concerning then as the seller said after the alternator went bad and the battery died the car doesn’t idle well nor has power so assumed the tune was gone

From ECMTuning's site. This might be faster than opening the ECU to see if it has the red V3 board. You can check the version of the software in the ECU by:

1. Install the latest ECMLink application

It's a REALLY good idea (and sometimes absolutely necessary) to download and install the latest application off our website.

For minor bug fix releases, this will not be technically necessary. But for any release where we are actually adding significant functionality, this step may be absolutely required. The application needs to know about all the new stuff that got added to your ECU. Otherwise it may not be able to reconnect to the new ECU after the firmware upgrade has finished!
2. Check your current firmware version

Bring up the ECMLink application and connect to your ECU.

Firmware version: This is the current firmware version of your device. When upgrading your firmware, this is the version you'll be comparing against on the changelog and the version that will be updated after the firmware upgrade is done.

Boot version: This is the version number of the code that executes immediately upon ECU powerup. This version does NOT change with a firmware upgrade. In fact, this version will never change unless we find some extremely major bug that requires each flash device to come back in here for a low-level reformat.

If you haven't purchased the car yet, I recommend having it towed somewhere to get it thoroughly checked out. There may be more going on than you are aware of.

OK I have the car and it does idle / run, i was able to trailer it under power and drove it a bit. Im bummed to learn after having DSM's and evos tunes and watching AF ratious Ive had this backwards the entire time. AF on gauge connected to wideband on this car is reading solid 22, and it sputters then goes, luckily if this reading is correct I avoided detonation in my little run i took to get logs. Attached is the log i grabbed. Car will idle at 1200 after it warms a bit nicely, will rev now sitting still straight to 7K, stutters at 4500 under load, I assumed this was 2 step issue but I set that to 0 and above, this then allowed the no load revving to work.

Maybee im missing the option but have no attach file option on post to add logs

Load the log using the add photos button :)

Ahh, Ok going to run through setup on the ECM link again and grab more data, I dont believe the car is that lean still tossing black smoke and popping off throttle.

here it is, added the omnipower 4 bar but cant add sensor data to the logs that I can see. When i try to add the log as picture its wrong file type unless you want an actual capture of the log?

Yes sir, an actual capture of the log. We have ECMLink on our computers to look at your settings and try and figure out what is going on by studying data from you. :thumb: (Well, my work computer got replaced while I was gone the last 2 days and my ECMLink is gone but I can get it back.) Your file will be a .elg file.
The longer the log the better data.

I will take a look. I am an engine builder, not a tuner, but I have to know how to get them to run so I "can" tune, I just don't call myself that since there are a lot better people than me that DO tune. It will be later on today as my company computer got replaced and I don't have Link on this one.....yet. ;)

I dont think i added the mods, so here they are on the car as I know them
Speed Density / omnipower 4 bar GM at
Ported Cylinder Head
GSC S2 Camshafts
BC Valve Springs
ARP L19 Head Studs
1G Throttle Body
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel
ACT 2600 Clutch
HX35 7-Blade Turbocharger
VRSF Front Mount Intercooler/2.5in Piping
Halman Manual Boost Controller
Tial 44mm Wastegate
Tial 50mm Blow Off Valve
Catch Can
AEM Air Filter
PTE 1200cc Injectors
Fuelab Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator -- Reads 40 PSI at idle
DW300 Fuel Pump
Custom T3 Exhaust Manifold
Thermal 3in Stainless Steel Exhaust
Vibrant Dual Tip Muffler

Here are the things I see:
Manually set your TPS to read .63v at idle, you can vary it from there if needed but set it manually.
Adjust the AFPR to 43.5 lbs without the vacuum hose hooked up.
Change your global fuel under the fuel tab to -62.5%. We will need to put some deadtime in also.
Adjust your idle speed down. GS2's dont have to idle that high. 900 should be fine, if not 1000.
Under MAFComp Tab, check the "disable airflow smoothing with SD".
You need to simulate narrowband since your wideband is up front under NBO2sim.
Under the Dash tab, change the stock worthless boost gauge to "knock".
Under ECU Inputs, while connected to the car live, at Pin Assignments, assign your WB to the proper input on the ECU and apply all of these changes to ECU. I can't see your wideband and its important.
Hopefully some others will chime in for better opinions. :thumb:

When you get time, Copy that over to the vehicle profile for future reference on your next thread :thumb:

I think we can answer if the car has V3 since the log has changes made to the direct maps, plus SD, etc.

I assume our OP didn't enter all the changes present in the log so the "tune" hasn't been lost.

Fuel pressure was correct, I don't know where to set the TPS to a voltage.
Wideband is set correctly for the rear AF as far as I know -- input pin rear o2
here is the latest log, little rough and doesnt want to idle
