So you are running a race car off an unmodified stock ecu? No DSMLink and not a stand alone unit?

If you mean a stock ecu you’d need something like an old pocket logger ALDL to serial logging cable with a null modem adapter and a Keyspan serial to USB adapter or a USB adapter that can deal with the high baud rate like the old Keyspan adapter can.

Once you obtain or make one (there’s write ups on here on how to make the cable) you can data log with Tuner Pro RT or TMO Logger. Again there’s a whole write up on here on how to log with Tuner Pro RT but I preferred TMO logger myself. There’s no write up on TMO logger but it’s real easy to use and was extremely popular in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Luckily, I found a back up of TMO logger just the other day and planned to post it here in the engine management section for reasons as such. If I get around to it tonight I’ll get on my laptop and see what I can do.

Yes. This last race it started back firing and running rough with no power when standing on it. Not to bad on low in, but that's no good racing

Please do, I'd like to be able to get something like this. I know it old school but I've got a ton invested in this. It's been a top 5 car but i know it can do better, maybe i got to upgrade to a stage 3 crowler cam, i have stage 2 in it now.

Cam shaft selection isn’t going to make it feel as if it’s hitting a rev limiter early. A few have put varying brand 272 duration cam shafts in naturally aspirated 4g63’s over the years, some backed by ecmlink or a piggyback such as an SAFC, but others have done it with the stock ecu with no such effect. What RPM is this occurring at?

About 7500-7800 but its breaking down before that. Sounds like its breaking down like a bad coil or wires or plugs. I purchased a oem coil showed up today. I ordered a set of 8mm wires, ones with ground wires on them and I'm now searching to find a good spark plug to run. I have a low end Denso in it right now, they told me to look at Denso idium. Others say NGK, I'm not sure what to buy. I need something that will handle the rpm.

Its popping in 3rd gear, have good gain in 2nd but falling on its face in 3rd. i just purchased new wheel and tire. Went from 14 in basset wheel had basset make me 13x8 inch wide 13 inch im wondering if this might be the problem but this change made the world diffrence in the pick up in this car came from 5th to 2nd before it feel on it face

so any ideas would be help full if you want to ad me to facebook messenger i could send you the video of how it was it shows it ty you for any help my face book is robert mushero from maine its got my 99 race car on it ty robert
