Hoping someone on here can help me. I’m getting an injector circuit malfunction code after installing high z injectors on my 91 1g.

When I drive the car it feels like it’s misfiring and I get that code. Drives find with stock injectors and resistor pack plugged in.

That would cause me to look at a few things. The Injectors, the resistor pack delete connector, how well the injector mates with the injector connector, how well the injector seats/seals in the head.

Since I think a 41 fault code is an electrical issue, not a time or fuel amount issue I'm assuming it not a problem with how you set up DSMLink.

Does it happen as soon as you install the big injectors or does it take awhile?
Have you tried disabling cylinders in DSMLink to see if it's a problem with just one cylinder or across all of them.

If it's one does it follow the injector if you move them around?

Moving the injectors around is a pretty good idea, we did this on a Toyota truck (pita) and moved the coil packs too trying to find a dead miss. Ended up being coil pack and not injector.

You mention a resistor pack delete connector…
Is it the low Z injectors that need to run the resistor or high Z?

I'm trying to plan ahead for fueling my girlfriends 1g GSX and want to get all my ducks in a row before buying a set. To make sure I have everything I need to run them!

Sorry, I do not have anything smart to add to the OP’s post…. I'm a newb just tryin to get some morning reading in before work! Lol

Have a great day y’all!

The low impedance injectors need/use the resistor pack for current limiting.
The turbo engines use low Z injectors and the NA engines use high Z from the factory.

Are you using those cheap injector adapters for the wiring? I've seen a few of them with no contacts in them if so.

So I'm getting ready to send in an ECU to ECMTuning for the EPROM and stuff, and I saw they had injectors and a “plug in” resistor pack delete pigtail, I'm assuming that from there- with the resistor pack delete pigtail, you just play around with the global time on DSMLink and your good?

(I know there's much more to it then that, but I'm a newb LOL. I just wanna feel confident that if I buy the high Z from link’s website that I or a real tuner can make them work) LOL

Have a great day guys stay cool!

A lot of us use Hi Z injectors as the large Low Z models don't transition real good from low to high injector pulses. The Hi Z models tune just like the Low Z injectors, so any tuner can work with them. I just recently pulled a set of 1120 Low Z's out of my GSX and threw in a set of 1100 Hi Z's. I didn't have to mess with the tune, it fires up and runs just like it didn't know the difference.

I'm getting a P0041 Fault as well, installed FIC 950cc low Z, replaced injector plugs, did continuity test from injectors to ECU plug, injectors to resistor pack and it all checked out. But still get injector circuit malfunction after 5 mins of setting base idle etc. I'm stumped.

On the ECMTuning forum they disabled airflow smoothing, worked for him. I'm going try that tonight.

Is this a fresh ECU? What did you change besides injectors? From what to what? What is done to the car? Your profile is out of date. Still says MAFT
