I hadn't heard about the bad news Will. Dam I am sorry! Nice to see the new motor tho :thumb:

How did you window the OEM block? I love these cars. Wouldn’t mind one at all.
With the recent release of the SST TCU Crack, I decided to do some launches. Got some solid sub-4.2second 0-60mph pulls before giving it a bit too much boost and timing.

At 5500 rpm the stock turbo can produce 18psi, and as soon as it loads up off the line, it spikes to max boost. I was essentially doing 1mph with 26psi on e85. Looks like the rod bent/broke and grenaded.

Wrist pin rolled down the trailer ramp when loading it up... ouch!

Hamish from evoscan has seen stock turbo, stock block cars do 3.3 second 0-60mph times, so I was kinda chasing something closer to that time.

So yes, it had 212k miles on it, but I was also abusing the shit out of it.

This time I'll be a bit more careful, avoid launching, and sleeve the block during winter downtime.

That is both hilarious, and epic at the same time. Makes me want one even more. When does the transmission start grenading?

Haha yes, it is...

The trans won't grenade like a manual, because the wet clutches will slip. I know there are 900+whp sst cars with aftermarket clutches and pressure mods (no available thru software/tuning).

Stock clutches are good for 500+whp if the torque is managed well. With TCU mods and higher main line pressures, I'd expect 550-600whp isn't unreasonable. Time will tell as the tcu Crack is still so new.

I highly recommend the evo x mr! This is my first, but I expect to have a couple/few before long. The dsm is back burner bc this one is so fun on track days.

Universal heat exchanger applied to power steering circuit

Tucked nicely into grill

The power steering cooler looks natural at a distance. The bumper no longer has the stock foglights installed. I used JDM EVO X RS mesh grilles and bezels to keep a factory-ish look without having the foglights in the way of air going over the oil cooler (passenger side) and trans cooler (driver's side).

New MAP V2 oil cooler kit, uses stock air dam to move air from foglight opening thru heat exchanger.

Reworked motor mounts, blasted, painted, poly bushings installed.

New roll center correction ball joints, caster bushings with spherical joints and poly control arm bushings (also adjustable links for the front sway bar.

Old crusty subframe with 212k miles

New (used) replacement subframe getting assembled with new motor mounts and whiteline sway bar.

So the shift fork 4 magnet came apart. Really common on these DCT470 transmissions. Its a magnet to allow a sensor to read the position of the 2/4 shift fork. When it falls out, the transmission goes into limp mode and wont apply clutches to even numbered gears.

So I bought a replacement from jacks. 600hp clutches, rebuilt damper, rebuilt valve body, etc. Really looking forward to being able to push more air through this motor. Transmission is no longer the limiting factor on this car!
