Ill be 50 in September. New to DSMs. I have always messed with V8 muscle cars and trucks. Ran across this site while looking for parts for my daughters first car. Saw the kind of power many of you were getting out of this platform for a fraction of the cost of what I'm used to with muscle cars and became intrigued. Fun cars to drive and work on.

Happy Birthday! Another 20 year member here in a few months.

08 so not that old yet but been around long enough i guess. Strange when you think about it now when you joined

I’m 33. Pretty sure that makes me ancient. Gonna file for my SSI and go get me a hurry-cane ASAP. :p

This account hasn’t been here long. Had the mods delete my other old account because I couldn’t get access to the email and forgot my password. So I’ve been longer but yeah. Not cool enough for the 20 years club.

I notice more and more when I go to Tuner type shows, I always have 20 yrs or so on most of the crowd there, how many other almost 50 yr old DSM dudes do we have on here and what keeps you hanging on to the DSM way of life?
I’m 55. I’ve had a 4G63 in my driveway since 1993, with the exception of 1997-2001. When I was dirt poor in Med school in 1989, I went to a car show and saw the 1990 Talon. I vowed to get it and was not disappointed 4 years later when I gotta a used one. I moved on in 1997, but I kept missing the fun little kick from boost and eventually found a 99 sypder gst.

57 now, will be 58 next month. My first DSM was a ‘91 GST. My current ‘98 GST I bought brand spanking new. I’m probably one of less then a hundred original owner DSMers. Sticking around cause I love the look of the 2G - still has beautiful lines to this day and gets lots of looks and compliments. One day it will go to my son, unless It has some major mechanical failure where parts are no longer available or its just no longer feasible to repair. These cars, like us old timers are a dying breed.

So I’m no “Old Timer” YET. But I will be one day God willing. I was 30 years old when I bought my 1990 eclipse GSX, first turbo awd car I’d ever owned and the fastest. I’ll be 40 years old this October :barf: and I love the car just as much now as when I bought it. There’s just something about these damn things LOL, this online community has been a PRICELESS tool to have along the way, thank you Chris aka Ludachris, this Buds for you cheers, and to all the other Mechanically frustrated brethren, cheers.

I've just realized I've owned a turbo dsm continually for 30 years now. There have been 4 but I've never been without one since 1992. Oh how I wish I would've kept my 93 also. Sold it for all of 2200$ in 2011. Could've just kept both the 93 and my 2011 acquired 97.

I'm going on 45yrs old now and still have my 96 Talon Tsi AWD that I purchased back in 2001. I've been on this forum since 2004 and am super thankful for the wealth of information and good people here.
