You could've googled that number. It's a small MHI 16g. If it has the correct turbine housing on it it will be a 7cm unit stamped 070. The markings are on the turbine housing not the compressor housing.

Just picked this up off a junker. Don't recognize the downward firing compressor housing, no markings whatsoever except for the triangle with a zero. It has an evo 3 turbine housing, with the worst welded wastegate I've ever seen. Turbine and compressor wheel look similar to my s16g, no shaft play either. Maybe just be a swapped compressor housing? Any ideas?

RVR Hyper Sports Gear-R stock turbo, which is basically an Evo III 16G with a downfiring cover.

They're very compact and flush because those bays are like a Galant VR4 where there isn't much clearance between the rad and engine. Too bad the actuator is missing and someone ruined the turbine housing with that custom weld job.

Thanks for the ID. They also ruined the O2 housing, welded it straight to the downpipe. Very weird build that one was.

Pricks. Someone gave me a blown HX35 one time that had the Bullseye turbine housing welded directly to a shitty tubular manifold, and the manifold was cracked. I pretty much saved the compressor housing and threw the rest away.

Wow, some people shouldn't own a welder. I'll probably toss the turbine housing too, but for $75, I think I made it out with a working cartridge at the very least.

Can somebody tell me what turbo this is? I got it off a 95 2g but has more blades than my t25

Absolutely an eBay 16G. Note the square portion on the compressor cover for the typical chyna bay turbo tag, and “ .70 a/r” on the turbine housing(because the translation of 7cm housing apparently didn’t take) and the adjustable wastegate actuator.

It’s probably blown or is about to be at least(the chunks missing from the compressor wheel aren’t exactly confidence inspiring). Definitely agree to sell it to Justin and buy a legit 16G or just a rebuilt/good condition 14B since if it was installed in your 2G, it already has everything needed for a 14B style turbo.

Hey guys!
My girlfriend picked up a ‘92 gsx and its got a big honkin turbo that came on the exhaust manifold with it by turbonetics. (Reassembling engine soon)

Im trying to figure out what this thing is so i know wether or not to keep it on the car and how much injector i will need if we do keep it.
(Shes never had a fast car, i wanted to rebuild it to stock with a 14b and work her way to the big turbo)

Anyways the sticker on the back says T-17517 and theres the numbers 30491-E50 on the back of the cold side housing.

Anyone seen one of these before?
And should i turn my girlfriend loose with it?
-again, shes never had a fast car…. A stock dsm will probably scare her enough! Lol!

Thank you all for help!
I look forward to hearing what the pro’s have to say!
-Brian

50-trim in a Bullseye .55 housing. Typical 65/56.5mm "stage 3" turbine spec but expect it to have a little slower response than an actual Garrett of the same spec because Turbonetics likes to use 5/16" shafts and compressor wheels that are only a shade lighter than a meteor.

Despite it's physical attributes, this thing is officially the "next step up" from a 20G. It's not big by any means.

Thank you for the info JusMX141!
It seems like it must be an older unit, i couldnt find any info on turbonetics website. I appreciate your experience and help!

Is there a smart way to research this unit to learn how much injector we might need if we run this?

For example, would i search something like “turbonetics 66/56.5 compressor map and fueling”? Or is my vocabulary totally wrong haha
Im not new to dsm’s, but im not all that experienced either!

If the car has ECMlink, you can always scale a larger injector down to work but you can't upscale them to make them bigger. I would probably run 1100-1200cc injectors. I have 1100's in a stock 14b GSX and they work great, just had to scale the size down in the global fuel section.

Thank you for the tip! We are getting the ecu ready to send to ecmlink to get the eprom and stuff.
Plan on using dsmlink v3 for it. (If i can manage to learn it)
Is there a specific brand that you reccomend? I have read about FIC here a bunch.

Great tip though!! Thank you for your advice!

I never would have thought about such a big injector for the 14b.

If it was your wifes car, would you search for a14b instead of anything bigger?

(I guess if it scares her too bad…. That just means i get to drive it) 😁mwahahahaha

I know I have a T28 in my 2g. That’s the only thing done to it and I can’t figure out what t28 it is. Can anyone help? Here’s the serial number TBO17050088
