Learned something new today. I'm sure you've heard somebody incorrectly say flex wheel or something like that confusing a flywheel and a flexplate. Well today I learned there is such a thing a a flexible flywheel because my lancer has one.
This is not to be confused with a dual mass flywheel. At first glance this looks like a solid flywheel but it isn't. It's two pieces bolted together. Here is a document I found to explain why. This is a 2006 lancer ralliart.

It's also funny how the 420a DSM's have both a flexplate and a flywheel. It's not often I see a modular setup on anything.

It's weird because it isnt springy like a dual mass. It feels like a one piece until you notice the bolts in the back.
