Long time update....
Chuckanut Rally 2021, #LUVLEE got to finally stretched its legs this year and took a cruise around a nice sunny day! Cruisin' with the wifey and #4g63luv!
Back in April 2021.
Then around 2 years ago I first started this LUV truck with the 4g63 then...
Talon sneaking in the back background while #LUVLEE is being worked on. Blew the trans again, 2nd gear sprag fell apart. Trans shop threw a built race one in there but driveshaft is a little too long for my liking so going to #nwdrivelines tomorrow. 2nd time blew the trans and has been in the trans shop more than I would like.
but its all back together and ready for a classic car show this weekend, lets surprise a couple of people with this swap HAHA.
Also worked on the talon a bit with bushings n stuff. took it out near a lake to stretch its legs.

I "LUV" it!!!!!!! ;):dsm:

Went to a couple of classic car shows local in town with the wifey. Surprised a couple of people instead of a typical V8 there is a Mitsubishi valve cover in the bay haha. #LUVLEE won Best Truck #portofsubs
Great times!

Attended last few car shows of the year with the wifey and still surprising people that there is no V8 in this LUVLEE. Happy Fall everyone!

Happy New Years!!
very small update... not much got done over Nov & Dec, slow progress I guess.
Working on fitting these coilovers. Trying to decide to see which spring is better. 10in 275lb or 9in 450lb. Removing the stock torsion bars up front.
Any suggestions on with a 4g63 block that's about 300lbs and th350 trans about another 150lbs?
I don't know the corner weight of this truck yet. Probably start with the lighter springs first.
Fleet update...picked up a GS300 and will be doing LS swap eventually (when who knows)
So I have 78 Luv, 2004 Lexus GS300, 95 AWD Talon, 95 AWD summit wagon (not picture), 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 (not pictured), 08 Subi Legacy (not pictured)...basically too many cars LOL

Happy Sunday! Few updates:
Added some QA1 DS402 coilovers with 10" 275lb springs, polished some upgraded cams BC 101(soon to be installed), also did trans flush with new filter and oil change with #valvoline
This week is to test drive the coilover setup.

Just needs a little more fluid :p

Hopefully comes down to a simple fix and not a full on rebuild.
Haha I wish it was that easy... I forgot to add the carnage, I dropped the pan to check fluid
Its either trans or converter or both, not good either way. Trans is under warranty but converter was built by another company and if converter took out the trans, then I am screwed LOL

Back from the trans shop and to the 1st car show of the year. Broke a sprag again and now in a 400+ classic car/ truck show called Cruzin to Colby in Everett. Awesome time with family and friends. Installed a Precision Industries Converter for the TH350 9.5" spragless converter stall 4500rpm

Took #LUVLEE out this weekend to a couple of car shows to stretch its legs after the trans rebuild. With the spragless converter is running a little warmer than I like. But #4g63luv took home a Best Truck at a small car show. More shows to come for sure. Thanks to my wifey @bbyruth82 for the luv n support.

Any comments from the old muscle crowd on that powerplant?

Any comments from the old muscle crowd on that powerplant?
Always :) Its either they hate it or Luv it. Some don't understand that it originally came with an Isuzu motor...keeping it original LOL Mitsubishi haha. There are folks that are shocked...or disappointed...why comments...kool comments... or just plain dont know whats happening (looking at the front of the truck...ok Chevy; then look at engine bay... ok Mitsubishi valve cover :idontknow:)
Its always fun getting the looks, comments, concerns, scratching their heads :p
But I always get the top 3 comments:
1. Oh I had one of these back in High school!
2. Oh my parents had one when I was little.
3. Oh an Evo motor! [Technically they are right but close enough LOL]

Crazy comments I have heard...Oh a 2J...I had a Mitsubishi Luv before...Oh its Turbo'd?...Where is the V8 (or LS)?...

This Chevy Luv never got love from Chevy...Can't find parts, no aftermarket support, ect. I guess its almost like Mitsubishi HAHA. But I say there are more aftermarket support in the DSM world.

Fun Fact:
LUV = Light Utility Vehicle

Cam Swap update! Changed out the stocks for BC101 cams (basically 272ish). Easier to do timing belt area with more room than a frame next to it. Also changed out the gas gap on the tank for easier fill and took out the crappy ebay gas cap.
Great day for a photo shoot too.
