I am curious as to what rpm range people are seeing going through the 1/4 mile with a 2.3 or 2.4(my car is a 2.4 w/ 2.0 head)? I know using 4th gear is a no no at WOT but, I feel I won’t have enough RPMS/gear to finish the 1/4 as those displacements don’t like rpm’s. Am I wrong?

I also think I need 4th gear in my auto. My fastest so far is 12.9 at 120mph. I am fwd. When I get the end I'm at 7800 in 3rd but i need 4th.

Raise the rpm. You got a LONG way to go in third gear
@NOSLO2PT0 it’s a GT35R
I’ve watched some videos of autos at the track and they hit well over 7200 rpm’s in 3rd gear when going through the quarter.

This is true. However what is their rev limit? Mine is 8k. I could do 8500 but I want a safety net. On my holset, boost is falling off around 7k. So I'm not making more power at the higher rpm. If it was possible to use 4th, I could have power.

What's the 35r boost range?

Nah, we rip little bitty 2.0's so we can run them out to 9200.....no need for 4th ROFL :p
Says the man who's car hasn't ran in almost a year.
Honestly, I think you will need to run it a little further in each gear to get you to the end if possible.

Lol, I guess

You know my current issues 😔
I don’t know, I may just have a street car(1/8th)setup

Well if the bottom end is built, and it has to be since its a stroker, it will handle a few more revs, you're just being safe. I don't blame you one bit! :thumb:
If its running out of revs, what cams are we working with?

It’s not a stroker Per se, it’s a 4g64(2.4l)bottom end and idk about crank but has Oliver I beam rods
I’m 90% sure they are BC280’s and they aren’t dialed in(stock cam gears).

Depends on your rod ratio. Magnus was spinning his stroker to almost 10k. Can’t speak for the longevity of that motor tho. Plenty of guys have run strokers to 8.5-9k with success.

Put in springs and retainers and rev away. Without them you risk floating valves at high rpms with stock cams. Kiggly himself recommended to stay at 7500 with stock cams as there isnt much power to be had past that anyway

Car has 280 cams, springs and retainers.

Are you bouncing off your limiter at the end? With springs and cams you have plenty of room for rpm. I like to increase 500 rpm at a time until I have the speed needed. Remember this 500 will be across all 3 gears so it adds up. Depending on what springs you probably are safe to 9k though

I thought originally that high rpm’s 2.3’s/2.4 isn’t good. After doing some digging on here I found out that a girdle and dampener w/ the I beams I have, i should be okay to 8500.

I haven’t tracked the car so I have no idea, turbo just took an exit so I’m I’m trying to figure out what one I’m going to go with.

8500 should get you where you need to be.
