Hi I put a 91 TSi FWD motor into a 90 TSi AWD shell and am having some troubles wiring the TPS in.

The 91 TPS pigtail has 3 wires, green/black, green/red, and green/white.
The 90 TPS pigtail has 4 wires, green/black, green/red, green/white, and green.

Now my wiring diagrams show this green wire is the idle switch, and (if I'm reading this diagram correctly) on the 91's this green wire has its own plug into the harness whereas on the 90 its all one plug.

My question then is if I splice the 91 TPS pigtail onto the 90 harness I will have the green wire left to splice in; where does it go?

Closing the loop here for future searchers. The Extra Green wire on the 90 harness is for the Idle Position Switch on the back of the Throttle Body.

I have 90 stock TB , replacing it with a 91+ TB, does that mean on the 91+ TPS only gets 3 wires from 90 harness? and there will be one empty slot on TPS plug?
following your guide on how to correctly pin it.

Do you have a 91+ fuel rail too? The 91 TB (TPS) and the 90 Fuel Rail want to share the same space.

Back to your question, the 4 pin connector on the 90 harness has both the 3 TPS wires and the green wire for the IPS. You will need to make new connections for both to connect the 91-94 TB. The 91-94 1G TPS has a 4 pin connector but only 3 pins are connected and the IPS uses a spade connector that attaches to the top of the IPS.

The 2G TPS has an internal IPS and uses all 4 pins on the TPS connector.

friend threaded to install some AN fitting in its place and cut ears off. So they both can be happy living there.

Now just to figure out pin out number on TPS to pin it correctly.
