Not sure if this the right place to put this. When I got my car, it had rusty coolant. This goes for my jeep as well. I’ve ran evaporust in both and I have to say this product delivers. Here’s some pics of my coolant reservoir and some part I had laying around. Have some brass shifter bushings on the way so decided to put the shifter base in there along with the fuel pump cover. If you have a spill free funnel, you know how rusty they get if you don’t dry them before putting it away. Notable parts, few bolts, subframe washers and a random bracket. This stuff is amazing.

Will post results of shifter base and cover.

This is left over that’s been drain from the talon.

I have been looking into things like this. Another im really curious about is the Ultrasonic Cleaner tank that Jafro uses. Seems worth the cost.

That thing is nice but takes up too much room imo for something that the average weekend warrior won’t use that often.

Its not THAT big. Probably a little bigger than a 4g63 head. They also have smaller sizes. It works wonders from the YouTube vids ive seen.

That’s kinda big but if you have the room, 🤘. It’s cool to have but idk if us cheap dsmers want to shell out the dough 😂

Impressive. Thanks for the post, could be a real time/effort/wirebrush/sandpaper/ristmuscle saver. I checked out the mfr’s mds (aka msds) for this product. It’s only slightly acidic, not flammable, but beyond that, the active ingredient is noted as proprietary, so not much clue there. Can be a skin irritant, and obviously not good in your eye, but otherwise seems fairly benign. Must be a reducing agent, as in reduction/oxidation chemistry type stuff. I’d guess one would really want to rinse it off thoroughly, to keep it from continuing to act on the steel for too long. Might also interfere with coatings. I usually give things a wipe with denatured alcohol prior to painting, and that might be wise with this, too. Made by CRC, which makes many well known vehicle chemicals.
It would be great if you keep an eye on the cooling system and update if anything odd comes up. Mine could use that too. I bought my car in Florida and there was no ethylene glycol in it at all. Likely for years. Probably plenty of rust in my block, and elsewhere. I wondered if it would be safe for aluminum heads, but realized all radiators are aluminum, so pretty dumb if it wasn’t ok.

My shifter base started out just like yours, and probably took a whole afternoon of work to get the result you did from simply soaking for a day. Dang!
Lol. Yeah I read that it’s eco friend too and when I feel the part after it’s been soaked, there’s a very slight residue and I don’t feel much of anything on my hands. Almost like very very light lotion. Think it works best when heated though because what I drained into the pan was hot and that’s when I just put in the random stuff I had laying around which didn’t take long to get the rust off those parts. Not real sure on what it does to any coating that’s on the part tbh.

Hmm, that makes some sense on the temperature aspect, as many chemical rxns are strongly dependent on it. I hadn’t considered other reactive metal coatings, like galvanized, cad, or black oxide, which are used regularly.
And to jakelandry’s point, i have been wanting a media blasting cabinet for some time, though I would also need a better air compressor to run it, and together that’s a lot of garage space (and my “lust list” also includes parts washer, shop press, engine hoist; I could go on...). A gallon jug is nothing I’d have to consider very hard.
