Its kind of like the manual but you don't have the clutch to clear so it seems easier to me but I have done it 3 times in a short period of time so maybe I am getting the hang of it. It pretty much goes straight up for the most part.
Yes, those are Hankook Ventus Z214s with the 40 treadware rating.

I found a 225\50\16 for 152 each on discounttiredirect.com

i’ll just go buy some used snow tires off the marketplace for 100 bucks for my poor man’s slicks 😂😂

Nicely built keep up the good work
Thank you, it is a work in progress, but progress none the less.
New control arms/ball joints/struts are going on since I am already here. Nothing special but NEW components. :thumb:

Thanks Jeff! It is a handful alone, but I have some help today so I will see how much farther I can get. I am putting the Jeff Busch transfer case brace on tonite and pulling the old struts and will see if my spring compressors that I got from the pawn shop will get the job done and transfer my springs to the new KYB gas charged struts (Come to find out, the OLD struts are the exact same thing). All new LCS's/Balljoints/Sway bar end links etc going in since I will need an alignment when this is all done anyway.

More stuff. I got one spring transfered over to the new KYB struts, I will try to do the other tomorrow. New front end parts while I'm here.
Got the nice JB transfer case brace installed on top of the Magnus bearing cover. It looks SWEET!!!
More tomorrow everyone.
Thanks for tagging along!

The line up!

I got my lower control arms off last night and got the other coil spring installed onto the new strut so both of those are done. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself, it is dangerous but I had 2 coil spring compressors and a couple ratchet straps that kept it from being too dangerous. No pictures since it looks SKETCH.....OMG
My new control arms/bushing/ball joints will be in today and the sway bar end links tomorrow. I figure for safety sake I should go ahead and replace anything 30 years old while I am there. Still some cleaning to do but she is getting close to running again (crossing fingers, again).

Parts!!!!!
I guess I should always say "more NEW PARTS"
:)

New parts are greattttttt.

I just ordered the Bulfab 3-piece cross member for the galant. Looks like it saves so much room, allowing a lot more clearance for two dump tubes, downpipe, and intercooler piping to all travel between radiator and block.

The tube front end I have from Paul Volk is probably about the same, it saves so much room under the car. Super nice to have instead of those big ass north/south bars and front bar. I left my original all in one piece and hauled it around to the back of the shop, not planning to have to use it again.
Yep Nick, the lift is SUPER handy for the chassis work. It also makes you look at things you don't want to see...…. and know you need to address them, hence new parts but I see more things, I just haven't got to them yet. If anyone has a cement pad and $1800, the lift is well worth the money. It has been used almost every day for 3 years now for various things that the disclaimer on the lift says "Not to do"......Nice tool for sure.:thumb:
My back got me down after some of that work so I had to rest it yesterday. I didn't get her done before the Memorial Day weekend like I wanted but at least I got quite a bit done!
Cookout Sunday so maybe Monday I can put her back together......nope, my tie rod ends won't be here until Tuesday, well I can get it most of the way together anyway, I hope!

She lives! I test drove it down the road and back last night. I tested Manual Mode, Automatic Mode and kickdown and all worked as I expected from the reputable shop that it came from! BIG THANKS to DTR!
I will double check everything today, since it was almost dark when I got finished. I have been working hard after work everyday that I have felt good (some days are not as good as others).
Whew.....Pops is tired, but HAPPY (lets all knock on wood) :)
Thanks to all of you for your encouragement! :thumb:
Testing to come in the following days but I think she deserves a good break-in drive before any hard testing.

On your north/south bars for the crossmember.. do you have a metal spacer between the frame of the car and the actual Volk piece? I see these north/south bars installed both with, and without the metal spacers/bushings that come with the kit I bought.

I use one spacer on the bolt at the back of the passenger side bar. The rest all bolt up without any spacer of any kind.
I circled the ONE bolt with an aluminum spacer in this picture. You could use washers too if you lost the spacer. I am pretty sure that bar would hit the bottom of the transmission if it weren't used. The rest is just "Frame Porn". It is wonderful to work around and not have those big ass bulky flat bars in the way. I took mine out in 1 piece and put it behind the shop as a unit. I bought another tube front end for the Red 90 Talon that is going back together here very soon. It is a 5 speed car and I HATE those stock parts!

Well I have spent almost all year trying to get to the track for some runs and the poor car just refuses to like me. I have went thru the entire fuel system because she was not fueling up under boost and STILL, I can not get her to quit being so lean......SO.....If anyone can look at this log from yesterday and tell me what you see wrong that makes the car so lean it is undriveable. Don't pay attention to the fuel pressure logging, it is stuck but I do have a gauge in the car and she is giving me fuel pressure with the new 525 Hellcat pump from Josh at JNZ @DSSA but I don't understand why she is running so lean.
If you feel like trying to help this old dude out, take a look at yesterdays log and give me some ideas/feedback and THANKS!!!! It sure would make me smile if I could go boost again or just figure out why is is not richening up under load. :thumb:

Marty,

You might have an issue with your fuel pressure regulator not scaling with boost 1:1. Verify your diaphragm is good with a small hand pump, it should hold pressure indefinitely. Next thing I would do is solve your fuel pressure logging issue. The gage probably makes this unnecessary, but that's very handy data to have in the logs (to share with others).

What is your hanger setup? Do you have a modified stock hanger?

If fuel pressure is rising 1:1 at the rail, I would say your lean issue could be in the injector scaling.

Ill look at your log when I get home tonight. I feel your pain... Just wanna go fast!

Hey Marty, does the circled part have this aluminum spacer/reducer installed? Also, what are you running for a rear roll stop?

spacer.JPG

Yes Paul, I have that spacer installed. That's funny because I was going to tell the respondent that I could tell they had a Volk front end! ROFL (I need to get 1 more since I have 3 DSMs).
I am running a Poly insert in the rear roll stop. They whole car has poly mount inserts.
