Ok I have a question and I have researched it but i still wanna hear from the guys that know best, I want to know what the good and the bad is with eliminating the balance shafts in a 4G63 engine. I talked to one of the guys at mitsubishi and he said that he gets eclipse's and talon's in the shop all the time that have had them removed and they run like crap and just beat the crap out of the motor's internals. I have also herd from other people that it's not a problem at all and won't hurt anything but I would like to know if anyone has removed them and had a problem with it or if the guy at mitsubishi is full of crap. sorry so long. any help would be greatly appricated.

My car is stock. I don’t really know what it would do with BSE. I’m probably not rapping up to 8,500 too often. It wasn’t much of a chore to change that belt when I did the w.p. & cam belt. I think my motor is uncommonly smooth for a high-ish factory i-4. I have stock mounts. Not sure how much about the various trade offs, but I’m probably keeping it with balance shafts for as far as I can see. If folks with stock rides are having a lot of issues with shaft or belt or oiling failures because of keeping them as the factory intended, then I’d be interested in knowing that. Seems like a ‘mod’ thing.
