Alright so I just bought a Tial MVS 38 mm wastegate to clamp on to my o2 housing, when I went to go clamp the wastegate to the o2 housing I realized that the 02 housing was a larger diameter than my wastegate.

I am fairly certain I have a JMF open circulation o2 housing, but am unsure as I bought the turbo setup from a member. The OD of the housing is 2.5" and the OD of the wastegate is 2.25". Is there anything I can do here short of unbolting the o2 housing and cutting off the end and welding on a new 2.25" OD end?

I'm beyond frustrated because I was supposed to just throw the wastegate on and do a prelimanary tune before my English racing appointment on the 9th. Now I am looking at delaying that appointment until I find a shop that can weld stuff for me in Portland

Quickest fix I can think of is to get an adapter Ive seen them while searching for an o2 housing

You have a wrong size wastegate. Your O2 housing and dump pipe are designed for a 44mm MV-R or a 45mm Turbosmart gate, not for 38mm MV-S. If that's the case, your options would be, return the 38mm wastegate and get a 44mm wastegate. Or look for another O2 housing and dump pipe that have the flanges for a 38mm gate. I don't recommend swapping only flanges or using adaptors. You may have a fitment issue.

You’ll be fine running an adapter if it’s an open dump setup. If it where a recirculating setup then it has to be a perfect fit. At the very least this will get you by until your appointment.

The dump pipe is not the only issue I meant. I am not really sure if he would be able to clear everything with an adaptor w/ a clamp for both O2 housing and dump pipe side. Such as the alternator, fan, ps pump and the lower intercooler pipe etc etc on 2G's tight space.

Thanks guys... Boy do I feel like an idiot, I guess I will attempt to rush order a 44mm MVR from one of our vendors. Hopefully it can get here by Monday. Extreme PSI is pretty good about returns so I have no issue with that... This is literally the last thing I need to finish my setup and start playing with the ECU, so of course I grenaded myself. :banghead:

Thanks again y'all!

It was the 44mm I needed. Wastegate is on and my car is officially ready for the dyno. But I missed my appointment by a day and English is incredibly busy so won't be until April 20th to get my dyno day
