Hey I'm just trying to get my posts up, but i figure id share this thing im doing with my spare time.

Basically I'm waiting to buy my FP red turbo and im going to be doing little odd things to make the engine bay look good before i put the engine back in.

I bought this koyo rad radiator for 50 dollars and i am going to polish the hell out of it. Also I will fix all the fins and then get my SPAL 14 inch puller on there and my 12 inch ebay pusher hooked onto it.
This is just the start of the forum i will update it along the way.

You know i juat read a form where a dsmer said he used a 14 inch puller and a 12 inch pusher.

Here is a picture with the stock fan still attached so it is not perfect but i thibk it will work? I could be wrong.

Honestly might be a little bit to tall though ay?

I’ve had 2 12” fans and they do fit. If you go 14”, the other would have to be smaller than 12”. The only problem with that set up was that it would run hot on hot days. I had mine wired like factory, p/s wires to coolant temp sensor and d/s for ac. When I had this problem, I did some research and found that the fans I had moved 1250cfm. IIRC the factory p/s fan pushes 1600cfm. I switched back to the factory fan on the p/s.

honestly i have know idea what IIRC means or p/s or d/s... I am sure i could find out but I would have to do some reaserchin and i will LOL.

I have two of the stock fans, I will be running an FP red turbo and and an FP race manifold... Curious what i should do now..

p/s passengers side
D/s drivers side
IIRC if I remember correctly

I’d run the easiest set up for now until you’re ready for the red because you might have to change things around. You can run just the p/s fan for now unless you have ac.

Thank you for this information.
It's not running right now just my project car. No engine in at the moment waiting for the red to be rebuilt then sent to me. Also waiting on a fluidampner. Contemplating whether or not to do a balance SHAFT delete.

I will probably just grab a 12 inch pusher spal and a 12 inch puller spal and wire it all up.

Im also wondering if i should get some sheet metal and fab up a shroud to mount them on. I'm about to do a search and see what i can find on that right now.
Two 12" fans is all you need. You should never need more than that. I've driven the car in 100 degree heat and it holds up fine. Look through my build thread and you'll come across my fan situation and the ducting, I guess, that I made for it. Very easy stuff.

I have an FP Green and FP race manifold with same wastegate as yours and I use the stock fans with no issues.

Every time I tried a pull&pull, push&push, or push&pull combo, with aftermarket fans I ran hot. I bought the highest cfm fans I could find.

Even running my factory p/s and a 12" pull or push, I ran hot.

Maybe I have some other problems. Maybe it's because in south Louisiana summers are in the 100s with 90+% humidity causing a "feels like" temperature of 114+/-.

Anyway, I'm sticking with the OEM fans as they outperform all aftermarket fans IMO.

Oh, and I have my d/s A/C fan wired to a 12V switch below my radio. It's constantly blowing on and cooling the mani, turbine, wastegate and downpipe.

Well that is really good to know honesty if two stock fans keep you running cool in South Louisiana i see no reason wjy i shouls spend 400 plus on fans when i am in a much cooler climate. Washington rarely see's 90 plus degree weather.

Seriously thank you for the reply and all the help. I'm just going to save my money and use stock fans.

You are quite welcome sir. It's just my experience though. For others, they may run on 2 aftermarket fans all the time. I can't, unless it's winter here averaging 50s and 60s with a front or two bringing teens. Heck, we even got snow this year. :rocks:

Washington weather probably averages out to be around 50 or 60 degrees f most of the time. I put both of the stock fan on to mock it up and boy oh boy is that an ugly thing to look at hahaha.

Before I went back to the two stock fans, I painted them flat or matte black. The blades are no longer white and when people look into my engine compartment, they don't notice. They notice everything else just fine, but they just glide over the fans without comment. I hope they aren't laughing behind my back. No, really, I couldn't care less what anyone thinks.

You're right about that, I love it. I've noticee the people who generally critique the most are the least intelligent. They judge out of ignorance so forget them. I still have a ways to go with my build, i did end uo returning the spal 14inch and my 12 inch. Now i am waiting for a turbo to be rebuilt and a fluidampner. So I have some time to decide on what i want to do. With the fans, I really like your gauge setup by the way as well man!
