the car is dripping coolant from the side of the engine where the timing belt is, could this be the water pump? any help is appreciated

you don't need to remove the cover on a 420a. you can probably see it by just getting under the car but you might need to remove the A/c belt and move the compressor forward a little if its in the way.

The 420a also suffered from head gasket leaks due to Chrysler not drilling some head bolt holes deep enough, the bolts bottom out before placing the required torque on the head.

when i looked previously under i seen a stream going down the middle of the belt and then it would be flowing down and then dripping from the oil pan, i have inches of snow right now so it’s hard to get up under it, i noticed the leak once i replaced the thermostat and started to refill, it’s definitely coolant leaking, before the car went down it would bounce up and down in temperature and level out sometimes to where it needed to be but i figured that was just the thermostat, i don’t think it was leaking prior to the thermostat change since i filled it up about a week before i did the thermostat and it wasn't leaking at all

usually when the temp gauge is bouncing up and down, it mean you are low on coolant. Its bouncing because the coolant level is low enough that the gauge sending unit isn't fully submerged all the time.

The weep hole on the water pump is under the sprocket or whatever the fuc you call it. the part the belt spins, so when it leaks it will drip off it into the timing covers but it will also run down the body of the water pump and drip from the spot you see in the picture from my other post.
