so I have a 1993 3.8 v6 Thunderbird LX the other day AutoZone sold me some spark plugs come to find out they were the wrong size they were too long they didn't hit the piston but ever since the car idles fine but once I put in the drive it acts like it has a blown head gasket no gas pedal at all I changed the ignition coil the spark plug wires spark plugs the timing is okay would it just be the head gasket I don't know and today I took apart the heads and there's damage on the cylinder head almost like there was something hitting the piston but there's no marking on the piston

What do the valves look like? something broke off and fell into that cylinder.

the valves look okay I got some lapping compound today I'm going to clean them up tomorrow. I don't think I got anything in there always make sure I use my air compressor and get all the dirt out from around the plugs before I change them.

tonight I picked up a steeda 4.6 v8 with trans and front suspension for $50 came out of a 97 tbird the person I got it from was a older fellow who was retiring and just wanted to get rid of it but his son wanted the independent rear suspension so I got a hell of a deal off of OfferUp
