Hey everyone,

I have an issue where my drivers side door will not stop locking, I hit the unlock button and the door auto locks a second later, it also seems to sometimes not unlock 100% like half way.

Any ideas how to fix this?

You answered your own question, if its not unlocking all the way its going to re-lock itself. It sounds like it needs lubed and cleaned of all of the old crusty grease in the latch, this might mean taking the latch out to do the job right though.

I have the same experience on my 1g. It sometimes happens when I try to lock/unlock the doors by key, (I have no lock button on my 1g), the passenger side lock lever gets stuck between lock and unlock position and keep moving. I manually lock/unlock a couple of times like @TK's9d2TSi said. or keep pressing the lock lever at fully locked/unlocked position until it settles. You probably need a good cleaning or replacing actuator as @motomattx said above.

My power locks and alarm used to go off wanted whenever they wanted, my solution was I just permanently disconnected mine LOL. Seems to be a pretty common issue with Dsms.

I had this happen on my 2g. I assume when It locks, your actually locking both doors? Even though you only see the driver side? I could be wrong here but when this happened to my, I just unplugged a relay under the radio and this solved my issue. I can still lock and unlock the doors manually. The only reason I did this was because the constant locking was draining my battery. Now I dont know if my issue is the same as yours or not. I thought mine was electrical and not physical adjustment issues. I could of done the wrong thing. But just wanted to throw my experience in here.

I heard this story before where the doors on the car would lock and unlock on their own... It the car begins to follow you , show up out of nowhere and tries repeatedly to run you over then it has come down with a case of "Christine "
Hope you find and fix the problem ..:D

My Toyota used to do that and I had to peel the wires out of the rubber boot between the door and the car up by the hinge. I found 4 broken wires. Soldered them all up and then even the power mirrors started working. Might look there at yours and wiggle them around just to see what happens. That's how I found my issue. Small little wires in there and old. (1987 Toyota Camry Wagon).

So it doesn’t lock or unlock at all so it’s the actuator that’s broken. I hear the click of the relay but it doesn’t even try to unlock
Or lock.

Check for power at the connector when you hit lock and unlock. If you're getting power, the actuator is bad. If the connectors are the same, you can even swap the d/s and p/s to confirm this.

Yeah the actuator is bad, is still works to manually lock and unlock but the power portion of the actuator has gone bad. I bought some aftermarket lock actuators after seeing some post on here when I searched. Figured I would just go this route rather then pay 50-80 bucks at a junkyard and have them go out again in the future.
