So I'm having trouble trying to reflash my stock ROM back onto the ecu. Since I have the 2.4L there is no definition file in ecuflash and because of that it wont let me flash it to the ecu. I have also been searching for days and can't find anything for the 2.4L. Does anyone have the definition for the 4g64 rom or could someone help me create a custom rom through the wizard so I can flash it? I can't drive my car right now and need help ASAP. please. :cry:
 
Why do you need to return it to the stock rom? just use the turbo rom and set the injectors and fuel and timing maps accordingly and it should be fine, I dont know that you need definitions for a file to flash it on to the ecu though, I haven't messed with ecuflash for a few years now that I am on a standalone system, but I knew it inside and out when I was using it and I read my factory 2.4 ecu and saved the file, I do know that.
 
Well I'm fairly new to ecuflash which is probably why I'm having problems. I need to flash my stock rom back because I live in California, and passing emissions is a pain. When I open my stock rom file it doesnt even give me the option to read, write, test write, or compare roms. It shows that the rom is open but its like I've just opened ecuflash.

You should be able to just flash that back onto the ecu.
 
Well I wasnt able to, Tactrix finally got back to me and said that they had only seen the problem that I had once before. Because of that they didnt know how to help, so I bought another used ecu. All codes match, even the PCB code. I popped the bad boy in and started her up and the car started finally and everything was fine for a second or two, then the rpms dropped so low that the tach was telling me that I was idling at 100 rpm and when I gave it gas it sounded like a john deere lawn mower. Also pours black smoke like a diesel. Any ideas why Im running so rich? The ecu should be correct.
