Bit of a situation.
I'm in the middle of swapping my engine and I am rebuilding the turbo at the moment.
Last time I rebuilt it I saw a bit of wear rings on the turbine shaft that have been bugging me, so I had purchased a new turbine shaft as well as a rebuild kit
The turbo is a borg Warner s256 ett
And of course one of the bearings are fused to the shaft, which shouldn't have been a problem.
But it seems the new turbine shaft/wheel is the wrong size, in a few dimensions.
My main problem is I cant find a turbine shaft for it for sale, I've looked a lot and it seems this is a very old turbo and borg Warner have moved on to the s200sx.
I believe it's a bullseye .55 dsm housing.

Any help is appreciated, thank you

Got some more information.
The turbine wheel I need is 74mm/64mm
The part number is 210100-1
But i couldn't find anything from that

Maybe Garrett has something that will fit, some of the BW stuff seems to be almost carbon copies of Garrett.

Gotcha.
I was able to find this, it's for a s300 (apparently) but it doesn't have all the dimensions, only the 2, 74mm and 65mm (which is 1mm larger than mine, but I'm sure I could figure something out for that)
But I'm guessing something will be different, probably the shaft diameter.

How do you secure the shaft on something that large? Is it keyed? Flanged? And what's the tolerance on something like that too?

Borg 316957.

It's not a very common turbine but they did use it in some Cat 3116 and 3126 diesel applications in addition to the Generator turbos those CHRA's were originally pulled from. Not available in the aftermarket at all to my knowledge.

Shaft diameter will be 8mm vs. 7mm at the compressor wheel. Turbine head is the correct size, but the shaft is wrong.

Dang thanks for the info man, I spent weeks trying to find stuff on it, I'm running it as is at the moment, when I can afford it I'll just switch to a turbo that has parts I can get, I do love borg Warner, I'll probably either go to FP or precision than

That shaft is grooved terribly...I can see how badly it's grooved on both contact points in the photos. No rebuild kit could save that. Either your oil was contaminated or it was receiving inadequate oil flow (feeding from the head vs. the filter housing).

Another option is to undercut the shaft and use undersized bearings assuming they're available. I know they're available for MHI, Garrett, and Holset but I've never run into a situation like this with a S200.

If you think buying parts for this thing is a challenge then you may as well forget FP and Precision as neither of those vendors sell parts to the public.

Oh ok, yeah when I first opened the turbo it had that groove, I did buy it used but maybe it was starved for oil while I was using it as well.
I'm just hoping to get something around the same flow and durability (I know this one failed but that probably had to do with oil problems) for around $1000, that's at the top of my list at the moment
