The starters on these cars are hard to get to, so you'd probably do fine with a well hidden killswitch that interrupts the signal going from the key to the starter. Also remember that 2gs have factory alarms and immobilizer, as basic as they are (just detects presence of a key in the lock cylinder using the key-minder circuit, if i remember correctly).
Nah, the door switches have nothing to do with the immobilizer on a 2G. There's a theft alarm relay on the ground side of the starter relay on the clutch switch wire on a manual car, and on the neutral safety switch on an automatic. If a key isn't in the ignition then the theft-alarm relay wont ground the starter relay, just as if the clutch wasnt pushed in.Close...3Gs were the first to get the immobilizer. The 2Gs have the alarm though, which is why it is possible to start the car and drive it with the alarm siren going. This can happen if the door lock switch fails.

Edit: actually, looking closely at that diagram, the ETAC-ECU also needs to provide a ground for the control side of the anti-theft relay, and if remember correctly, ETAC handles retained power and the audible alarm, so presumably with the alarm sounding because of an open door, it won't start either.

Add a hidden isolator switch for the earth to the starter or ignition (not positive side)
Now im doing 2 fuel pumps im adding a second switch to activate the pump after the first so that any fuel left in my swirl pot can get a few miles if that but unless they know what buttons to press they wont activate the refill pump .[/QUOTE
Sounds like a similar idea I saw once.
A floor switch on a timer. If you're carjacked you press the button with your foot and let the thief drive away. They wouldn't get far. 10 sec or so. Juat far enough for you to get to safety and for sure recover your car. Additionally this same device would let somebody steal the car on a break-in but it won't go far. The idea is if they get caught you can prosecute for grand theft instead of just vandalism. Looks like your idea might accomplish something similar. Wonder how far the car would go.
