Ok, so I have literally put countless hours into researching and trying to solve this issue my self and I cannot seem to find the problem.

vehicle information:
1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G RS. Stock, no modifications, 420A.

I am having an electrical issue with the vehicle, the car lights will not come on. The realy for the hi beams clicks continuously when I attempt to start them. The clutch safety switch relay clicks rapidly when I try and turn the ignition switch until the clutch is depressed. The gauges on my vehicle do not come on. Only the brake lights show, everything else remains dark. My file pump is not priming as well.

When I turn the engine the engine does try to turn over but Without fuel I would just be putting un warranted strain on the vehicle. My father and I recently adjusted the timing and did an engine rebuild we did remove the fenders and lights for this but everything was placed exactly as It was removed since we have done this before.

I am in serious need of some guidance as to where the problem may lay. If possible descriptions instead of electrical diagrams. I can’t read them and apply graph to the car I’m just not that smart.

Just a long shot. Since you said you removed the fenders did you upset the grounding point under the RF fender above the wheel? Sounds like a grounding problem.

I assume you checked all the main fuses, fusible links and relays, and the battery?

Sounds like a your getting a shotty ground somewhere or somewhere i would go check all your grounding points for corrosion or some other reason why there not making a good connection

thanks bud we, rechecked grounds and my dad had removed ground to chassis. Problem solved!
