Hello everyone, I just bought an eagle talon tsi awd automatic from my brother, I previously had a 1g tsi but due to fate and this pandemic I had to sell it and my brother agreed to sell me one of his dsm awd since he has others but this car has never used it I bought it about 10 years ago and it worked normal it has some bolts on as an oil cooler, cam gears but that is not the problem if not that a few months ago the car took to put the change to drive has to warm up and reach 4000rpm, and it already puts the change in (it puts it in suddenly) but it neutralizes out of nowhere, after it neutralizes I proceed to turn off the engine and turn on again and do the normal changes and without any problem, I do not know if someone has something similar happened to him, relatively I am new in this world of dsm I know little, if someone has already passed this problem to him it would be very helpful, since what I want is to fix him that problem to use the car well (ca mine and everything is only the only problem that it takes at the beginning to put the changes) I attach some of my dsm

It sounds like it could be low on transmission fluid or have a clogged transmission filter.

omorrow I'll get that bro, can I keep contacting you, the truth is I am something new in this world, so with transmission service could the problem remain?

If its still having problems after making sure that its full then it could be a bad transmission control unit, or internal damage. The transmission fluid gets checked after the car is warmed up, with the car in neutral and the engine running. Start at park and shift to each gear, leaving it in each gear for a few seconds, shift all the way through all gears until you get to the bottom and then run the shifter back up through the gears the same way and stop when you get back to neutral, then check the fluid with the engine running as I said. Use ATF+4 fluid from the store, dont use import fluid or any other fluid, ATF+4 only.

I just checked it has transmission fluid, the filter is practically new, it brings the oem, (obviously that was done at the time I don't know the date and it was stopped and they rarely turned it on but if they put it to work and obviously they put the oil that You tell me, then my brother by phone confirmed the same thing that he did the service) and I checked what you told me and if as I mentioned before after I put the gearbox at 4000 rpm and it is neutralized later, I turn it off and go back to Starting the car already works wonderfully, it brings some leaks (I don't know if that affects) in its ic pipe route but I am more concerned about that of the transmission, you will have a reference link of a case similar to mine, it does not give me much confidence to move it since I only move it a few blocks from my house

So it sounds like the transmission controller should have some codes stored in it, have you tried pulling the codes from it? was the transmission ever removed from the car?

If I thought that because I think the transmission has an ecu, right? I really apologize bro but I have never had a dsm atm and I still do not know much about the platform, I hope I do not torment you with so many questions, I can get those codes with the scanner? I don't really know if the trans has been removed, the only thing I know is that my brother swapped 6b 5 years ago, I don't know if that has something to do with it, I asked him but He told me that he does not know about automatic transmissions that I could ask here in the forum, I thank you very much for your time for helping me, tomorrow I will check everything well since I have been busy at school and my goal is that it goes without problems. that the engine is already running to start giving love to the car
