I have a few questions. We are about to start a build on a 2.4L for a 2g dsm. The block came from a 99 spyder GS so i think it is correct block. What all needs changed. I am already aware of the rotating assembly stuff and needing to block the 4 oil holes on block deck. What timing belt and cam gears are needed, What head gasket or anything else is needed to put a 2.0 DOHC on it?

For the timing belt i have read that dsmers have gotten away with using a stock 2.0 T belt, but the trick is they had to use a tensioner pulley [AKA smiley pulley] in place of the idler pulley.
Another option would be to source a set of the rare "94 mitsu galant GS 2.4 dohc cam gears, and then use the longer 2,4 timing belt from that car as well bolt on, solution you can also use the head gasket as well from a 94 dohc 2.4 Galant, or get a 4G63 2.0 head gasket with a custom bore size you just need to make sure it is at least the same bore size as your 2.4 block, which if it is standard bore size, you would be 86.5mm. regardless of what method you use you will want to make sure your timing is set right, and from what I recall reading you need to advance half a tooth on intake and exhaust cam if you use stock 2.0 gears to be lined up at tdc there are a few posts on here about this subject that you should checkout, just for further clarification, but figured I'd share what I recalled reading on the subject.
