no. and you dont want that. All the faster gear is gonna do is eat up clutches faster. If you really think you need to try it, you need a front and rear ring/pinion from a w5m31 that has the 2.864 rear. I tried it as an experiment, and unless you are running some kind of small turbo stroker, it's all wrong.

Just curious since you stated it, but you're saying you ran the auto front diff/ring gear, or the 2.864 ratio?
I'd be interested to know what the 2.864 came from, galants?
 
Henry, I think he meant 2.846 that came from RVR, Chariot, Libero etc with W5M31. Like the ones in the link below.

Biggest reason I was curious is the auto front diff is vastly different from the manual, though I have considered seeing if custom work could be done to make it usable. Honestly I believe thetthe ringbring gear is too large in diameter, and a custom pinion would need to be made.

I'll have to keep my eye out for the RVR stuff.
 
Yes I ran the 2.864 stuff. It came from my 90 galant gsx. it's litterally too tall to use. 5th gear is 90+

Understood, I'm interested as my next plan is a tq build and cruising rpm being low would be great.
