So I’ve read about 3 dozen threads on this but still don’t have a good answer. Please help.
I’d like to upgrade my pump to something I can go as far as I’d like to without upgrading again. So maybe the A1000 or a Magnafuel. A lot of people say you can just build a pickup tube where the stock in tank pump would be, mount new pump externally and be done. Does anyone have any pics of this? Also, the A1000 says it can be submerged. Has anyone just put this in tank?
I have -8AN lines already ran. I assume this will support me up to 800hp? (I know what username I chose... )
Thanks guys

Wow, thats a BIG pump. Sorry I don't have any experience with it. Currently running the Hellcat 525.

Well the pump isn’t really the question. What I’m mostly curious about is what people are doing with their pickup tube in the tank. I know I could sump the bottom of the tank but it seems like adding a pickup tube would be the easiest.

GST with PSI uses an A1000. He is not using it submerged. He is feeding it from a 2 liter surge tank. The surge tank is fed by a regular intank pump - actually 2 intank pumps. The A1000 is mounted low relative to the surge tank so it never sucks air. And the surge tank is never empty because with 2 intank "340"pumps feeding it there is always excess - always recirc back to the main tank.

If you want a fuel pump where you don't have to upgrade again you should probably just look into going mechanical.

A1000 flow is not that great honestly. The magnafuel 750 is much better pump. I would sump your stock tank and run a 750. Make sure line from sump to pump is 1 size larger then feed line so it doesn't have cavitation issues.

I’ve been trying to avoid sumping the tank as I thought I could come up with a way to avoid that. Be it a pick up tube in place of the stock plump with an external pump or a fully submerged A1000. does the magnafuel 750 have problems self-priming? Is that why it needs to be sumped?
