So close to driving. I got her home from the intercooler piping job and was finishing up some last minute prep. Cracked the freshly powder coated water neck trying to stop a leak. It must of been cracked already. Then, the stock radiator inlet snapped off, so it's upgraded to a mishimoto aluminum radiator now. It looks better anyway. Fixed the shift issue. The bracket on the trans was off by a half inch.

Still needs an issue with the tachometer addressed. Might just need a new tach adapter to get rpms across the dash.

Finally got it ready enough to go on a maiden voyage and as soon as it hit pavement I heard squealing. Thinking it might be a belt I pulled off the road and my brother said keep driving see if it levels out. I did and it got worse the faster I went and I noticed my steering wasn't responsive.

It turns out my wheels are nowhere close to being aligned properly and one was pointed out more than the other, causing the noise and poor steering.

That issue should be a relatively easy enough fix too.

Addressed the alignment issue and took her out for a little drive around the block. So far so good, still have a few issues though.

I am seeing more smoke so I'm expecting a head rebuild in the near future. Probably valve stem seals as the turbo was just rebuilt.

This might mean I can put my cyclone intake manifold on this season with any luck. I'll need to find gaskets and an actuator for it.

On Saturday I received my cerwin vega spare tire sub and installed it. I'm very happy to confirm superb results.
I took it to an alignment shop local on monday. They rocked me with labor and parts. I needed to get camber bolts installed. $250 later it drives great.
Then later that evening a good friend helped me with cutting holes in my hood and mounting pins for them.

Next up this week is my

A few months ago I decided to give the Power Stop Z26 Extreme Street Warrior brake upgrade kit a try. The drilled and slotted discs alongside of ceramic pads definitly increase the stopping power over the stock rotors and pads. I have the 3000GT Big Brakes on my other 1g though and they are definitly stronger. However for a bolt on over the counter upgrade it is not a bad choice.

I've been trying to teach myself to tune a little bit but ultimately I have an older brother that is a guru of sorts at it so I fall back on him a lot. We strapped her to the dyno the other day to see what we could do. With no boost controller and the turbo spooling to spring pressure (about 14 psi) she was making just over 210 hp. After installing a boost controller it kissed 28lbs but the clutch slipped early on in the pull. So, the boost was turned down to about 22lbs, which was able to output 258hp to all four wheels.

Since then, I have upgraded the clutch to a stage 4 competition clutch and have been breaking it in for the time being.
Some more things have been ordered hopefully will be here in time for the Shootout!

Stay tuned for more fuel, a custom exhaust manifold, a bigger turbo, and more!

Upgraded fuel pump today to a Walbro 450 and injectors to FIC Hi-Z 1200cc injectors along with a GM Flex Fuel Sensor. Also installed the Ingersoll Rand Boost Controller suggested by ECM Tuning. Got a base tune on her for a couple of days till I can tune her for e85!

This is a motivational post for me. There was a lot of things I hoped to do before the Shootout this year that I did not get to and the list continues.

Install Cyclone Intake Manifold
Fix exhaust leak on 02 housing
Diagnose Coolant issues (I am likely pushing oil into my coolant as my heater core leaks with boost)
Install a proper PCV setup and add a catch can / recirculation setup
I am considering using a recirculating BOV as well to reduce oil mess under my hood
Get my hood clear coated
Install fog lights
Custom carpeting for trunk area
Decide on which turbo either a FP68 or 20g
Install my titanium exhaust manifold when it arrives.
Touch up driver side rear quarter panel where sun fade is present and a small dent.
Touch up small rust dings throughtout the car
Take off my lower door window trim and re finish it
Finish my Raspberry Pi Head Unit
Balance Shaft Delete
Upgrade Cams
The list goes on but this is a start.

I wish I had a place to store her inside it is a crime parking her under a cover in a gravel driveway for the winter =(

How are you liking those power stop brakes currently?
They don't cost a whole lot more than the better pads and rotors that parts stores sell so I went with em plus I get a better deal working at one. But I do want to upgrade to bigger brakes cause they did not make a significant difference compared to another 1g with 3000GT calipers and rotors
