I've got a '98 GS-T. I cannot find the front bumper under cover anywhere. Does anyone at least know what the part # might be? I have ASA and I still can't find it! Below is what they show in ASA, but the closest they seem to come is just referencing that it indeed exists. But no part number or anything that I can find. Anyone know?

It’s pictured as a splash shield #3 for engine components on mitsubishidirectparts. No part # though. If they don’t have it I’m not sure who would other than the scrapyard.

Is there any evidence of it actually existing? I've been under several completely original 2gs and have never heard of this until today.

The Suzuki and Mazda parts catalogs both list part numbers for fender mirrors for the AZ-1 but they never actually existed. If our only indication of their existence comes from a drawing on the parts diagram then I don't have high confidence. For as simple as the pictured one is, you could make your own pretty easily.

Here's the parts catalog image for the AZ-1. The entire bottom right fender mirror assembly never existed.

While I was digging in the catalog I did see that passenger engine splash shields are still available but within the past year the driver side ones have disappeared. The radiator support is still available from Mitsubishi as are both right and left strut towers, which would have been nice to know before I scrapped two of my previous DSMs.

This is what they have... it’s a pretty detailed diagram for it to not exist. Of course I don’t have one.

But yes, if you really wanted one you could cut one from a large sheet of heavy gauge plastic.

@TSiAWD666 Me neither, but what about #3 in the diagram from post #4?? Or is that what you meant by engine undertray?

I have had four 2g dsms and none of them had that part on them. Did I just always buy hacked up cars? Curious now...

Bumper under cover doesn't show up in any of the Mitsubishi repair manuals either.

You gotta realize all this is all pre 3D CAD. For parts diagrams they just took pictures and gave them to an artist to do a rendition. Most likely an artist that did this sort of thing for thousands of parts on many different cars. So what you get is exactly that not the real thing but an artists impression of close to what it is.

They probably added the look of the a full undertray to the metal support strip that bolts to the bottom of the bumper by mistake because they had drawn undertray's on other cars. Iv'e certainly never seen an OEM one either.

The part number is MR138433.

I looked all over for that part months ago because I am pretty pedantic about restoring my car. As far as I have been able to tell, it was not sold on the North American 2g Eclipse.

I think it might have been used on the European GS?

That part doesn't exist as far as I know. The only thing in that area is a curved metal bracket that bolts to the inside of the bottom of the bumper cover edge.

@rabenne, @TSiAWD666 I was referring to part #3 in that diagram in my reply. Sorry I wasn't more clear. :)

I've had 8 2G DSMs since ce 2003. Never seen that tray, although I widh it existed. I have also never seen anything under the car that would suggest a tray would even attach to that location.
