Anyone or know of a place that does 3D for small parts?
I recently had my headliner redone and is now a bit thicker than the 30 year old one that was up there combined with being exposed to the heat and sun for years as I went to put the sunroof cover back and when i turned the knob to lock it in place they snapped :banghead: . Knowing these aren't going to be found anywhere "except my spare parts bin" :D I luckily had a spare sunroof cover with the knobs. If anyone can help me out on this maybe we can get this part made and possibly help others out.

Billy O'Connor on the DSM Classifieds Facebook group mentioned he has a scanner and several printers. I'm hoping he can print me a floor mat holder for my '96

@Kai Hefner Think you could possibly help this guy out? I know you were doing some nice interior pieces.

Yep, that's the one. ExtremePSI sells that anchor (circle) part that goes into the carpet but not the clip that snaps in and holds the mat in place. Did you get that recently? Or something you've had for a while? I've read that sometimes new floor mats come with it also, but I'm not sure.

I pulled this off a stock grey carpet when I put a new black carpet in my silver 2g. I just never installed it in the new carpet, and its been in an "active projects" box for about 3 years...

I have a couple more of them floating around... if you can't find one to scan, lmk. I have a couple different laser scanning setups I could use. I dont think 3d printing is ideal for a part like this, but it should work, and would be extremely cheap to replace if they break too easily

Haha I know how the active projects box goes. I didn't have anyone offer one up on facebook, plenty of people showed me the later model style.

I know it's such a small part, but I would love to have one, or a few just in case they break.

Thanks for the additional information and support, I searched a bit and found a few companies local to me that I may try first if this doesn't work out I will reach out to someone. Took a couple pics with dimensions "best I could with 1 hand" for those that may need them to see what they maybe getting involved with. Although I was planning on sending the part to you I think that would be easier.
Was looking at the broken knobs and either i was missing them all along or there are 2 different styles as they didn't have the middle disc part.

Okay sounds good, just for fun I will do some cad template drafts tomorrow and try to get more info on dimensions. I can send you the drafts if you want them to send to manufacturers. It makes things easier.

I do! Sounds like he's got himself sorted, plus the printers are busy printing roof wing prototypes ROFL

Do you by chance have a picture of these?
Don’t want to hijack but I’m making these for 240s right now, just posted a build thread update about it. Will be making DSM ones after these ones.
