I found a 1996 Spyder GST for $4900. It is a 5-speed, 91,000 miles on it, white with black top, 17 inch rims. There is 80% tread left on the tires but the guy has a brand new never used set of tires for the car that is included in the price. He says the top doesn't leak, but it had a rip and was repaired, but he didn't like it, so he bought a brand new oem top that isn't installed and is included with the car. He says the interior is really nice, everything inside works, but you have to help the top up a little bit. He doesn't know if the timing belt has been replaced or not. It has a 3 inch cat back exhaust, 16G turbo, apexi intake and a greddy bov. He says it runs great and has no issues. He says he just wants to get rid of it because he doesn't drive it and its taking up space in his garage, which sounds good to me because he kept it garaged at least. he also said that the paint is good on it, no clear coat coming off, no body damage or dents. I'm going to check for crankwalk be looking at the clutch pedal when I turn left. I have been talking to the guy over the phone and I'm suppose to go drive for 4 hours to go and buy it if it checks out on Thursday. Does it sound good? Should I ask him or check for other things on it?

It looks pretty clean so I would guess $3500-4500 would be the max it would be worth if you find the right buyer. I think 3k is respectable and it looks like a fun little car.

Posted over on the Mitsu subreddit and got a good reply from another user, but seems that subreddit dont get a whole lot of traffic, so I decided to join here.

Graduated school in 2001 and had a 1996 240sx SE, after I graduated and got a job I bought a 2003 eclipse in Oct of 2002, had 24 miles on it when I picked it up.

Fast forward, I raced the crap out of it every weekend in my small town, few years later slave cylinder started leaking and I burnt the clutch out of it, ordered a new clutch but never put it in. Ended up trading it for a 1997 s10 blazer slammed on 24s and never had another fun car since.

TODAY, I have a '96 V6 mustang with nothing but a cold air intake and some weird exhaust that sounds like a ford ranger truck. I was looking around on facebook over the weekend and found a 2002 jetta that was in good shape for $2000, but the guy wouldn't ever message me back. That's when I ran across this today for $2000 also, 1995 GST with ARP head studs, 68hta turbo, 850cc injectors, big intercooler, megan coil overs, gsx brakes, new tires, dsm link v3 computer.

With knowing it's a 20 year old car, it'll most likely need work, is the $2000 worth it?

Hello guys I am tossing around the idea of selling my dsm and I want your guys honest opinion on its value. I live in central Wisconsin btw if that helps. The car in question in my 1997 eclipse gs-t. 112k miles on the body, no rust at all, and new tie rod ends. Motor has all new gaskets from oil pan to valve cover (and everything in between). Also just to say, the head gasket, timing belt, water pump, and head studs were replaced 200 miles ago. New oem clutch with 300 miles on it, new drive shafts. New shifter linkage bushings and shifting cables. All is stock minus an stm fuel pump rewire, BOV (only 7 pounds of boost coming from a stock t-25), and intake filter. The car was repainted, but has some small paint chips, but not visible from 10 feet away. Interior is nice and clean, no check engine lights.
I am probably forgetting some things, but let me know what you think!!!

Hey u never know. Put it out there and see what bites. Idk how effected you are by covid where you are. But also alot of people are tapped for cash.

tbh everything is so overblown...I think 258 people have died in the total state in WI.....Where I live we have had one case...one case of someone catching the virus not dying.....

Pictures of the car would be great, inside, outside and engine bay. With cameras being pretty awesome these days, they tend to look slightly better in photos imo, so keep that in mind. Get compression numbers and ask if there’s anything wrong with the car. For that price, I’d expect it to be in good shape.

Guys, I am hoping for some input on the 50 trim automatic awd 2g dsm in my build profiles. There is some rust underneath, but the strut towers look good. I am considering selling, but I dont know what its actually worth. The turbo has essentially zero miles and maybe 30 mins run time on it.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Would be a little easier if you listed the mods and issues with the car, I see 4 pages on your build profile and I really can't make heads or tails out of how the car currently sits or what it needs or what components it currently has.. The last thing you did was a compression check, does it run?

Yep, it runs fine. I guess it would help if I updated the build thread. Aiming to take it to the drag strip this weekend for some tuning and baseline times.

Most mods are in the profile, but there might be more I am forgetting. Issues include the obvious bad paint, currently has a window track issue (but I plan to fix that), not super clean interior, but decent. Grey leather. Milage is 139k. I should learn a bit more about this car this weekend. Right now all I really know is I dont have time for this project car, and it seems like a good starting point for someone, or even just something to rob the automatic awd swap parts off of.

Parting it out nets the most cash but ends another 2g awd life.... not thrilled to do that

Update after this weekend and I am sure you will get some interest with a proper for sale thread that lists all of the mods and pics to back it up.. GL!! :)

I am not sure I want to invest the time in putting together a proper for sale thread, thats why I jumped into this thread hoping people might throw ballpark figures out. Its not like I am asking for OFFERS...

My main motivation for taking it GLD is to ensure everything is working well together, and get a few miles on the car in a place where my lack of license plate inst illegal. All I really know about how this car runs is that last year my silver car (while on a 50 trim setup) was only slightly quicker than this one when we met randomly on a county highway. I bought the car from him a couple months later with the blown turbo.

At GLD I plan to spend a bit of time trying to get the maf in line, and start with some easy pulls. If everything goes well throughout the day, hopefully I will have good datalogs to share of how the car performs. At that point Ill know enough to make a proper for sale thread or if I even want to sell it versus part it out. Until then, anybody else see enough to throw out a ballpark figure? I won't send you an invoice LOL

Like like whats been said multiple times WITHOUT PICTURES theres no way to give an estimated value. If the cars banged up looking like it went through a stand of trees 2 hurricanes and 6 sand storms barely runs has tons of mods (questionable at best) then you've got yourself a $1000 or less parts car.

I bought 4 2g turbos this year for 1k if thats any help, thats 1k for all 4 not 1k each. Sounds like a scream'n deal right? Except none of them have engines or trans in them. 1's smashed with mint interior, the others just need engines and trans.

Pictures like the ones in the build profile? Or are you saying these aren't enough to ballpark a car's value?

Neat story about the cars you bought! But doesn't help much. Anyone else?

Want an estimate of what a cars worth heres a good example!

Whats my car worth? Got a 1992 1gb Talon TSI Awd, lower miled with 109k miles absolutely zero rust with 6/10 paint and about 7/10 interior. Close to bone stock, fuel lab fpr, bsek and southbend stage 2 clutch being the only mods.
Fresh michelin pilot sport a/s 3's on stock rims, brand new stock brakes all around including calipers. Fresh timing belt job, new mitu tensioner and evo 9 timing belt. All new fluids, engine oil, trans oil, tcase and diff oil, coolant, brake fluid, and clutch fluid.
Clean interior with factory floor mats, no real staining on the carpet. Leather seats drivers and passengers have cracking from where but no rips or worn through spots. Dash is in very good condition, not cracking or lifting, door cards are in nice shape plastic clips at the bottom dont seem to be holding tho. Back plastics are a little faded but not broken, truck cardboard panels are missing but carpets there.
The bad needs new hood release cable and both back struts are blown.
