Once upon a time from 2002 to 2008 I used to log with pocket logger and a Palm pilot. Fuel controlled with hks super afr.
My palm pilots are dead now. Other than ecmlink, is there no other way to log?
I have link in one car, but don't want to buy another ecmlink for my second car.
My other car is stock right now, but want to use some of my old parts.
3"MAF AND TRANSLATOR, APEX super AFC 2, also have an HKS super afr I can use.
I want to run a 16g Turbo@18psi, with 650's, already have walbro 255 installed.
Any ideas where to get a working Palm pilot? This seems like a fruitless way to go.
I still have the pocket logger cable just no way to log.

You could create a time machine and go back to the stone age and find a green screen palm pilot. Or you could get a wideband O2 and go tune your car on a dyno.

May be old and 40. I can't entertain the idea of going pocket logger after having ECM link.
I just searched for digital tuning. Com and they are done.
I no longer have the software. So not sure how I even would get the software for the pocket logger.
I don't have a wideband. Might just buy one for the heck of it.
I might share the ecu I have between the two 4g63 Colts. I drive them once a month. Literally. That might be my best route, rather than spending another $900cad.
It's just a shame I have this old equipment and it not being used.
I should just buy a hellcat. And sell my Colts.

If you have a laptop you can use a palm emulators. Tuner pro is a program that can log as well (all are free)
Hmmmm.i have to look into this emulator thingy.

There is a article on here about using a MMCD on a laptop. There is also TMO you can download somewhere, and build a cable. Not too hard. If you have an Eprom ECU I can burn you a chip that would get most of your tuning done for you.

Do you burn dsm chips if so can you get me a price on one please it is greatly appreciated

Believe it or not I have the files for the palm pilot on my PC but DSMtuners does not support any of the files that they are so I can't attach them.
Hey brother, I will gladly take the files from pocketlogger. I got two of my old palms to work, hotsync works, and I even found an old printout of my original email from pocketlogger. Man I am getting old, maybe just dsm old, too many parts hoarded.

So I emailed digital tuning, lets see if they even respond.
So now I have a palm that hotsync to my 6 yr old laptop(dusted that off too)!! I have the cable, I have all the info required to get the software to work on the palm, now I cant find the software. I need to search through my old harddrives for the software. If someone has the software, please contact me.
My car is ready for tuning, but I want to give it a go old school.

I could always borrow the ecu from my other car, but want to limit doing that.
Currently I have a built motor in my 3g colt, manley pistons and rods, BC cams and springs, evo316g fp manifold, bshaft delete, walbro 255lph, pte660, 3"gm maf and translator, superAFC 1, innovate wideband.
2.5" turbo back exhaust(needs upgrading too). 2.5" fmic with 2.5" charge pipes.
Car is driven still once or twice a month for a twenty minutes, so still not getting link until maybe winter time, but for the time being, I'm kicking it old school.

so , pocket logger software anyone?

Will the mmcd software work with the pocketlogger cable from digitaltuning??

I guess i will try it.

Mike Montalvo has replied to my email!!
I have been able to find my old email printout, which has the registration code, cable serial number and my hotsync username to use.
I have been able to get the palm working, with the pc, i can hotsync , i have the software loaded, but its v1.01. I need version 2.0
another stale mate. I'm so close.

Why go through all this hassle when you already have link. Throw your link ecu in, with the stock maps, and just use it for the logging and tune with the SAFC. When you're done, replace it with the stock ecu since you don't really need to log anything once tuned.

Good point. Didn't think that would work.

Well I'm all set up anyhow. At least I know the old equipment still works.
Now time to book dyno.
Wideband installed too.
Should I bother with my old egt?

Thanks to all who helped.

I'm in a similar boat here. I've got a car here that was built in like 2005. Car came with an AFC and chipped ECU for 1600's. I can't get the Palm Pilot to sync up with my laptop (windows 10). Reading this, this has me concerned.

Recently, HP has scrubbed the Palm taint from their web pages. However, Palm Desktop v6.2 is still available from CNET. Palm Desktop v4.1.4 is available from Softonic, albeit with some adware added to the installer. Unfortunately, HotSync drivers stopped working back with Windows Vista. So you can’t actually use Palm HotSync for anything.

This quote was from 2015.

I was planning on using a Palm Pilot to read codes and log. However, not being able to hotsync and load MMCD onto the Palm Pilot leaves me with little options. i've got Link V3 here (but have ZERO experience with it). I don't know if I'll be able to use the AFC to tune as the chipped ecu has it's own settings. if i set V3 to 2g MAF and 1600's (which is what the chipped ECU has), will the tuning on my AFC be close?

Pocket logger is up and running. Got the car on the dyno. Motor is just under 1000km broken in. Dialed in boost to 16psi, tuned with AFC and wideband. It's a comfortable 275hp. It was no big deal not having link, the tuner said for my goal and setup ecmlink is not necessary.
I'm surprised my laptop was able to sync with the Palm pilot. As long as it all works, it staying that way.

What and how did you get it up and running? I have a side project that need a pocket logger. I dug up my old bins and found a palm pilot and cable. I haven't tested them, but started searching for info and stumbled upon your post.

I have the ecmlink on my Galant, but planning on using a pocket logger on my Mirage side project.

I have barely driven my colts this summer. Still have pocketlogger. The hardest part was getting a palm pilot to sync with my pc (windows 10). After I had the cable and serial number sorted out, there are members, including myself now, that have the pocketlogger software. Once the car was tuned, I have had no reason to use the logger.
If you have the logger cable and serial number, and a syncing device, it should be easy peasy.

Thanks guys. I hooked up my galant ecmlink to the mirage just to see how far off it was. But it would be interesting going back in time :)
