Kind of a hail mary here, but does anyone happen to know if the fitting size for the high pressure fuel line from the fuel hanger assembly to the fuel rail is the same as on a 3000gt/Stealth? I think my fuel pump is about to crap out. Last time I swapped it, I picked up a used line, because it was much better than the current one I had, but still not great.

The only reason I'm asking is the OEM DSM one is crazy expensive. Someone on the FB Group offered the 3000GT Stainless one from 3si for a decent price shipped. I would love to save a couple bucks and have an upgrade at the same time. I cross referenced the part number, and it doesnt show the GSX as compatible.

This is the DSM one --> https://machv.com/products/2g-high-pressure-fuel-line

This is an OEM 3000gt/Stealth one --> https://www.3sx.com/fuel-hose-short-feed-fuel-line-from-tank-sending-unit-tank-to-hard-line

This is an aftermarket 3000gt/Stealth one (stainless) --> https://www.3sx.com/3sx-custom-fuel...-fuel-tank-to-hard-feed-line-fuel-line-all-3s

Post #10 & 11 the guy is installing the MR161794 hose which is the stock 3sx hose.

Looks like it’ll work. I’m going to purchase the SS setup since I have to go into my tank and replace the 255 with a 450. I can’t stand that the stock rubber hose has to twist 100 times before it comes off. The AN setup will make any further services easy!

Edit: ordered it today. I will install it as soon as I get it.

If money is the problem, I would take the hose to a hydraulic shop, they can change the hose using the same ends (IF they don’t have new) they can even add a universal rotary swivel and you will end up having an OEM quality part with the advantage of be able to remove just the top side and not to have to undo the bottom end first when removing the fuel pump.

Awesome, let me know how it fits (if you don't mind). From everything I can find, the fittings should be perfect. That thread you linked makes me feel better about it too

Thanks for the input! I will call around. It would be nice just to take off the top fitting.

Hopefully real soon. I cut the old hose off when I installed my 450. I’ll let you know how it goes as soon as it arrives because there is no going back with the old hose ROFL

Lol shove a crazy straw in there and connect it back. Are you still using the OEM spacer, o ring and cap? Those were missing from mine and I used a Toyota rubber spacer. But it still seems kinda shady. When I pulled it, it was "riding up". Might be contributing to my fuel pressure issue.

Here is a thread for reference:

For the 450 I cut off some of the plastic tube on the pump, got rid of the cap too. I did reuse the o ring and black spacer (which had to be trimmed). If it don’t seal good or fail sometime later I already purchased the bulkhead -6AN/ 5/16 fitting to eliminate the stock feed tube completely. I may switch to the bulkhead setup later on regardless. I really like just clamping a small hose on for future servicing if needed.

Following up. I received the kit looks great. I’ll update again once I get it on.

For you do it yourself guys you can simply gather the materials separately for a few bucks cheaper. I don’t mind supporting vendors (even if it’s not DSM specific) especially during these crazy times. Part descriptions are in the picture.

Looks like a nice kit! Thanks for the update. I'm probably going this route too

Don’t forget to post the process, what you did and how you did it, that will help myself and others in the future when it comes to change the lines.

looking good, keep it up.

For sure. Linked below is VFAQ Ifollowed to remove the whole fuel hanger assembly since I had to replace the fuel pump as well. It would basically be the same process to replace that high pressure fuel line with an OEM line. If you were replacing with the stainless line mentioned above, you could cut the rubber line, remove both halves and the install the new line without removal of the whole assembly

I picked up the same line as 007jimmy, second hand from a FB Group member as he no longer needed it for his project. I got my fuel pump swapped out and installed this line in place of the OEM rubber line. It worked great, now I can simply remove the upper connection without having to break loose the line from the bottom.

I just installed mine today as the weather was a little wet the last few days and I have no garage. But the install went fine. As you can see hex on the line at the top of the pump is beat from trying to get the soft line off of the pump fitting. It was starting to twist. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore!

Awesome! Glad it worked out. Sucks about the line on the assembly, but at least it didn't shear off. Used AWD fuel pump hangers are expensive too, like $200
