So I took the car out for some data logging today and it was interesting say the least , imo anyway . My buddy came along to make changes for me as I don’t like tuning and driving esp considering the car is making 600+ . So we take the car out and I rip a 3rd gear pull with my cutout closed , Afrs we’re in the mid 11s, low 12s ... this is on e85 mind u. I wasn’t logging injector duty at this time. The log showed 28 psi , car was mid 50s lb/min. So I decided to open the cut out and did another pull , car immediately shot up to 34 psi do to the reduction in back pressure. Car was peaking at 65lbs/min at this point. The only problem was no matter how much global or ve correction we through at her she still remained lean. So I’m scratching my head ... I have fic 1650s with a secondary rail with another set on standby if needed. When we logged injector duty I Couldn’t believe what I saw. I was at 120% injector duty on 1650s at 34 psi and nearly 100% on 28. From what I’ve read guys are making 700whp on 1650s.... so my buddy says, what about the pump? I have a fpr gauge and I watched it during the run, it remained 1:1 the entire time so it didn’t think it was the pump. I should clarify that I have twin 255 in the tank with 8an feed and return. Long story short one of my walbros came disconnected at the pump and the entire time I was running a single.... This really scared me , makes me wanna go back to a big single

In my amateur opinion, the Walbro 535 is where it's at for us mortals. It's hard to beat one quiet, in-tank, cheap fuel pump that you can make 700hp on.
Brother that’s the same pump I’m running at the moment pushing over 70lbs @ min that pump actually flows more like 550lph according to the ams pump test :thumb:

People are foolish using two baby pumps. Regardless of the platform. I have seen two different high powered 4g63 cars loose one of their pumps in a twin pump setup. Both cars had multiple warning lights alerting us to the problem.

Run a real pump or don’t run one at all. And of course I am extremely partial to mechanical fuel pumps.

I was thinking about the aeromotive 1000, but I believe this pump still requires an intank pump to lift the fuel no ?

I’m curious how the pump became disconnected, was the clamp not tight enough? I’ll be running a dual 340 setup and this worries me, however if it was something like a clamp that could’ve just as easily happened on a “big” single, but regardless I’m glad nothing bad happened :D

Don’t waste your time with the baby a1000. Magnafuel is local to me. That is all I run and support.

you do not need a lift or feeder pump. Same bullshit you just went through.
