My 1995 Gsx started making this awful sound after pushing 18psi on my brand new hx40. It gets worse the louder it revs and the knocking is accompanied by a terrible screeching sound from the valve cover it sounds like. I have a data log and video to go with it. I have no idea what this sound is , please help....

im thinking I might have jumped timing... And maybe bent the valves. Ive already done the timing 3 times on this since owning it and at this point im really frustrated with it but would like to hear what anyone else might think it is and if there are any reliable/good shops anyone knows about around the Pittsburgh area, please let me know.

At least take off accessory belts. That screeching sounds external. Bad harmonic balancer? Any accessory etc. Go look at the obvious
I was taking accessory belts off the next day , not 10pm at night but I figured I could post and see what other people’s opinions are before I tore into it. So I knew what to look for

Alternator. Water pump and harmonic balancer are my guesses.
yes the water pump started squeaking whenever I spun a bearing. But I don't know if they are related at all. The bearing on the crankshaft was just weak and then when I turned my boost up to 20psi on my hx40 I think that finished it off. I wasn't to lean, there wasn't any knock. I wasn't beating on the car. Im pulling the engine this week to asses how bad the damage is but the oil only contained brass shavings which would just be the outer piece of the the bearing which would mean that the crank wasn't touched and in that case I could reuse it.

Just have to mike the crank and have the rod resized so it will hold a new insert.
