Installed a mbc today was pretty easy. Figuring out the idle slowly.. still over boosting, so I'm not really driving her hard. Took her to get some gas tonight also, she was happy

When I bought the car it didnt have a recirculation tube. I went to autozone and got a radiator hose the was big enough to go around the bov and small enough to go in the intake. I had bout a recirculation tube online but it was too big. But I noticed that my bov was sucking in air also.. should I replace it? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!!

You can pressure test your plastic BOV to see whether it’s any good. They have a bad rep of leaking at really low psi, though. If you want to stick with recirculating BOVs, there are metal ones from the later EVO models that work.

Make sure the recirc hose connection on the intake pipe is leak proof, though, otherwise you’ll be getting post-MAF unmetered air (and unfiltered) which is going to make the ECU unhappy and harder to tune.

I read that an evo 8 bov works just fine.. I put silicone around the hose going to the intake .. the recirculation tube i bought off line was too big so i improvised. I haven't drove it since I put that in, I'm waiting for the new alternator to come in next week to drive it. But if I chose to not run a recirculating, would I have to run ecm link? I'm newish to DSMs.
