I definitely don't have a copy of Swede Density. So definitely don't PM me asking for it, because I don't have it.

;)

All kidding aside, the creator of the code put in a serialized bit in the binary so he can tell who originally bought the software. So realistically anyone that has it probably isn't gonna share it. Not sure he has any kind of power to actually do anything about it, other than you and the OG sharer being banned from their forums.

Ahh. Forgive me Ive been out the scene for probably close to 7 years. Back when I was following it he was releasing new versions for free on dsmecu. The last one I got was like prototype 1106. I remember him talking about releasing a really nice paid version too, I didn't know if it ever happened. I wish I could get just get ahold of him. I definitely wouldn't mind paying for it.

Yeah, fell into the same trap that others did. Make something free, want to make a buck off of it, and suddenly start going nuts with paid only serialized/keyed software and then fall off the face of the planet.

Honestly though, if he never comes back then some people might start sharing what they've got. Same thing when Ceddy's website went down, people starting sharing his stuff and I don't see a single thing wrong with it. If you no longer care to stick around, the scene itself shouldn't lose a valuable resource.

Yeah its too bad really. That dude was really smart and seemed to really know what he was doing with the code. It might just be in my head but SWD just seems to run better than the old Pudhead/Dsmap sd conversion, and im still working the bugs out of it. Im grateful for what he did share though. It was pretty generous of him to spend his time working on it and sharing for free when he did.

I was able to get on dsmecu and found that the version of SwD I have was basically the last free version released before he went to the paid version, so that is good to know. For future reference if anyone would like to try the free version SwD just send me a message and I can send a copy. I'm surprised this isnt more popular, I wonder how many people actually run SwD.

Don't underestimate the communities commitment to DSMLink. Even if something is superior or at least equal to it, they discount it immediately.

Even if that dogmatic commitment is currently biting 2G owners in the ass, seeing as how ECMLink is no longer making 2G ECMLink kits. Had we pushed teh development of the 2G H8 or the 3G ECU in these cars we could've had an amazing tuning platform, same as if the Ostrich was pushed more for the 1Gs. But here we are.

Wow I didn't know that about 2g dsmlink. Wonder what thats all about. Just goes to show nothing lasts forever. I'm a bit of a DSM hoarder, I should probably purchase the 1g version before it falls of into obscurity as well. :)

Honestly the PD SD version I've ran for close to 10 years does everything I need it to and has always ran great on many cars. I just like to tinker and try new things which is nice being able to mod the code and figure things out. I get thats not for everyone and ECMlink is a great product, with a great datalogger too. Just curious did Kim get the high speed logger working reliably in his paid version?

I never ran Jackal or werewolf, I did follow it a bit though. Seemed like alot of drama going on. For me it seemed to be lacking features I already had. I ran pretty good on the modified version of PD SD code too, 10.20 at 144 like 8 years ago. I've been thinking of switching back to a 2g maf just to tinker around also. It'd be nice to have a good non mitsu maf option for our cars other than the GM maf.

I had my car running on a ford frequency maf. I did the ecmlink trick of a /4 circuit to get the frequency in range. It kind worked, but the was 2 issues. 1, The stock maf comp map didn't really have enough authority to tune it with only a 1byte map. You'd end up with small single digit numbers at low flow, and 255 at high flow. So down at low flow you'd have like 10% resolution. I tinkered around a bit to try and figure out a 2byte map, but never figured out a clean solution. I ended up using an arduino to make my own maft. It worked ok. Car went 140mph on it, but it wasn't 100%. The next problem is it seems like the ford frequency mafs have a lot of temperature dependency. I have not quite narrowed down if that's really what it is, or a tune/mechanical issue.

I always wanted to try and use a karman maf in blow through. You'd need to replace the internal baro with a 4 bar or something, and edit the code, but it should work. The flow/frequency should stay pretty constant through a range of density.

I ended up moving on to a new ecu of my own, ABACUS. I wanted better boost control/logging/ect, and I have been running a VGT turbo, and I wanted better control of it instead of just a lookup table.

I still have my GGSX, and my brother has one too, I want to work on some flex fuel ability for them, but I need days with 40hrs I think to have time for it LOL.

Man that is some interesting stuff. I'm probaby showing my age here but do you remember the TRE MASC? It was a Ford Hotwire conversion box (like a MAFT) that used a big ass 90mm Maf with the little sample tube in it. That was like 20 years ago.

I would be interested in learning more about ABACUS too.
