Just watched this but the rest of foam isn’t dead. So I might be able to buy foam and cut out the shape to fill it.

Now the question is what’s the density of the foam???

If you have had no experience repairing foam , working with contact cement then maybe you should let your local upholsterer repair that for you. I don`t think it would cost you much. I`m guessing twenty buck.
The driver side bolsters always wear even under normal use . You could try and shave some scrap foam and hold it in there with contact cement but it can be quite messy.

Thanks Widgmaster!! I’ll look into what adhesive to use. Also came across this.

Don’t understand Spanish but it’s a great idea to use stronger fabric where the foam contacts the frame so it doesn’t split.

I’ll bring it to the upholsterer first to see what they charge.

That was a perfect video of foam repair . Mr Hall went step by step through the process you need to take to repair your foam bolster . I really like that he added the material to the underside of the foam to add strength . I always use heavy canvas in that area . The foam used in this type of repair should be of high density . Mr. Hall is using a electric meat carving tool to cut his foam. The idea is to let the contact cement dry enough where it becomes tacky before you stick it together. .Make sure you have some Varsol paint thinners handy when using the contact cement. . I think the video pretty much covers this problem .

Will do. Appreciate the help!!

You, sir, are our now our resident upholstery guru. If you hadn't been tagged on Tony's thread I would have tagged you myself. Thanks for helping out with your many years of expertise in the field @Widgmaster !!!

Thanks for the kind words Marty . Things have been very slow for me due to this virus thing . Still waiting on the boarder closer to reopen so I can get my mufflers .There waiting for me at a postal delivery center in the US .

That is way to much money for this small job. Heck.. you could drive to my shop and I would fix it for nothing and drive home and still have money in your pocket for that much . ..Before I retired I charged $500.00 to repair the foam and make new cloth covers on a pair of buckets . If you wanted real leather of coarse it would be more .I`m sure you can handle this project yourself @TK`s9d2TSi . Just follow the video you posted from what I call YouTube University .Make sure to post a pic of your work ..

Will do!! I told my wife how much they quoted and she thought that included the cover repair LOL. I know I’m paying for his time and expertise but that’s way too much.
