So I been away from this site, and dsm for a few years hence why I'm still a probationary member since 2012. (LOL)
I decide to get back on the forum life and contribute what I know.
This is what I've been up to since 2011

Thanks for posting your vehicle profile Rick, car looks great!
Thank you Chris!
Just trying to be as detailed as possible for those that have similar goals. And using this vehicle profile link helps me from having to type my mods every single time someone asks. ROFL

Hopefully it also encourages people to make a profile and keep the site running strong :thumb:

Feel free to post some photos from the build if you have any... many would love to read about it here in your build thread.

Well it seems like the HG is gone since coolant is coming out from above the Water Pump. Ill post pics of the tear down.

very nice! you wouldn't happen to be on IG are you? My wife was mentioning about a guy with a 1g eclipse with a talon conversion.

Yes siirrrrrr. I know exactly who you're talking about. I'll add you back

Continuing today I cleaned for hours before deciding it was time to pull the head.
I also painted some stuff black cause I really don't like chrome

The car is done now. It's washed and I cleaned the bay after getting dirty and greasy.
So here's the "newish" look.
All the intercooler piping, the o2 housing, the fuel rail, and the wastegate are now black. The only thing I changed completely was the way the Electric boost controller was routed. It used to be by the passenger side and i re-routed it to the driver side so the vacuum lines aren't exposed.
Also, I need a new manifold blanket. This one has got to go.

Gorgeous!!

Ever since I did the head gasket nothing has really happened besides me swapping out the Mitsubishi VC cause its cracked. Now I'm back to the lame "16 valve" VC :notgood:. So heres a pic of that small process, and just a random pic of the 1g at my buddies alignment/tire shop in Monrovia CA

Just a little update: I received my new "carbon" manifold blanket, and secondary fan. But like a noob I blindly ordered a fan, and it turns out that I can't fit a 14" with my current set up :ohdamn:. So I just decided to trim the oem fan and make it fit. Now my temps never go above 206°.

Currently the car is wired to have the fans running all the time, but on Friday I'm planning on adding a relay to have both fans kick via temp switch.
I'm not experienced with any sort of electrical work, so I'm having my electrical engineer buddy help me with that. Only because the wiring was hacked by the P.O and I have no idea what he did.

Update:

Yesterday I got my buddy to help figure out the engine harness I have, and wire up a relay to power both fan via temp sensor.
The kit i bought said it actuates at 175-185°F and when I hit 190° the fans did not turn on. I turned the car off to avoid it getting any hotter since the fans did not turn on. We started to trouble shoot everything, and tested all the wires. We were stumped since everything checked out. It was getting late, about 7pm so there was hardly any light out.
We just said screw it, and agreed to let the car run, but that 210° would be the highest temp I'd let the car get to.
So, there I go, I turn the car on, it hits 190° and no fans, and once it hits 200° we hear the fans kick and I just get the biggest smile! All that troubleshooting for nothing. If I wouldve been just a little more patient, I could've avoided the troubleshooting.
So with the wiring done and working, we decided to call it a night.
I was ecstatic to know that I no longer have fans running 24/7.

So fast forward to today. I decided to clean up the wiring and make it look more presentable. Here are the before and after pictures.
As well as the wiring set up we used. I am no longer using the switch on the bottom of the radiator.

Rick, is the hood CF and the popups just wrapped? I remember wanting to get the popups to match the hood but I was always worried about them not looking the same as the hood. Sorry, you probably mention it in the video, just figured I'd ask.

Negative sir, both are wrapped with 3M gloss Carbon. It looks so good people think it's real carbon LOL

I was about to go crazy with CF goodies from Carbonetics. But I really didn't want to spend money on anesthetics right now..
I'm working on making the car 100%.
Just bought a new 6puck clutch, flywheel etc, and am planning on getting a trans rebuild. So no real CF for now.
Here's some of the stuff I was looking at.
